What phone? If you're using a passport you can use USB OTG.

If not, Dropbox, Box, or OneDrive is your best bet.

My link seems to work on W10 PC, I may have it in administrator mode and on a compatibility setting for W7.

Easy, plug the usb cord to ur phone and pc. If you have pics in a microSD card you will have to go to settings in ur phone, "storage and access", tap "access using usb", and enable " usb mass storage mode" now your pc will display the contents of ur microSD card.

The OP never specified if the pics are on the device internal memory (where it defaults to), or the SD card, or if there's even an SD card in use.

If the pics are on internal memory, just plugging the USB into a PC won't work as mass storage mode doesn't work for internal memory.

You have to have Link loaded and working to access internal memory as a network drive.

    To piggyback on this thread....
Here's what I've done. I have Link and iTunes working on Windows 10.

Originally I was getting the "Blackberry Link has stopped working". I renamed the itunesprefs.xml file per:
?BlackBerry Link has stopped working? after updating to iTunes 12.5

That allowed Link to startup successfully, but I was unable to connect via USB to my Z30.

After upgrading the Z30 to 10.3.3, I first uninstalled BB link/Blend/drivers and uninstalled itunes (12.5-something).
I then just downloaded/installed BB Link and the drivers. Z30 connected no problem.
Downloaded iTunes, Ran as Administrator while Link was still running and connected.
iTunes installed fine, rebooted... both applications still fine, Z30 still connects to Link.

    All good now.

There was some info missing in your post, but I just remove the micro SDcard, put it in an adapter and slip it into my SD slot on my PC. It's the only way I transfer any media files.

After uninstalling, you have to get rid of all the remnant folders and files related to BlackBerry. Then make sure your registry is clean as well before you start installing Link again.

Worked for me. There is a detail solution for this somewhere on Crackberry.

This only works if you don't encrypt the SD card.
