Do I need to login with a blackberry ID in order to add an email account?

BB10 os. Latest autoload OS, BlackBerry world issue patched.

Isn't there a way for me to get push email in the HUB without a BlackBerry ID?

I did try! I'm a lil frustrated because it says:

At this time your email account cannot be added. Please try again later.

That might depend on the type of account. Is it a Yahoo account?

Has Yahoo pretty much bricked yahoo mail in the hub?

If so, what is the best e-mail app these days? Any good apps that send notifications to the hub?

UPDATE: using your desktop, go yahoo mail security settings (log in, click your name, account info, account security, then "manage app passwords". This will give you a password specific for your device or app. I selected custom, named it Blackberry, then went to "add account" on my Q10, chose email (I did not choose the yahoo option), then entered my email address followed by the password that Yahoo gave me. I entered everything including the spaces and it worked.

You may need to check and see if there are any minimum requirement.... or if there are some instructions for using older email clients.

    Yup!

I checked their instructions and manually entered the pop3 settings.

    Works perfect now!

I'll have to create a new post asking what the difference between imap and pop3 is

Exchange or it's Google's equivalent are what you want.
Next would be IMAP as it allows some 2way syncing
POP3 is a one way street that should not be traveled in 2020.

There's nothing wrong with POP3 for disposable emails that you don't want stored on the server. I use a POP3 account for most of my list serves and subscriptions so the they don't clog up my important email accounts. I receive about 80K emails a year, and at least 70K don't need to be saved after I've read them.
