Ever had Firefox leak 5gb of memory? Oh its fun. I check my memory all the time when weird stuff starts to happen.

Lesson learned: Firefox does not like 100+ tabs open for over a week with lots of YouTube.

But otherwise I agree with your post. BB10 definitely leaks memory sometimes and goes into limp mode where it's about as responsive as a dead rat. Not often for me but it has happened with a messed up OS. Security wiped and reload fixes it.

Blitz screwed up my last OS.

Aahahhaha actually, I think Firefox had a leaking issue back when I still used it a few years ago, used to get up to 7/7.5GB of RAM and crags and then conveniently freeze when there was about 256KB of memory left, too small to launch task manager.. fun times!

I know a security update will fix it, likely, but the issue is I want to figure out where the missing 600MB is!

That's fair. I always did wonder why the thing didn't seem to fully EVER account for all the RAM. Kind of pointless if it randomly omits stuff to have a breakdown

Yeah actually, it used to be accurate and I've added it up before and it worked, just something either about this OS or something about the install.

Strangely enough it was a clean autoloader install after a SIC wipe..

The resolution of the display requires more power to light each pixel that's why the z30 q10 and classic crush other phones in class on battery, larger batteries are need each time they up the resolution. If you are running a leaked os there are inconsistencies in memory usage and battery performance. If the game is an android apk then that also answers the question because it is using a runtime and the app itself is running memory will dip. Android apps drain batteries and resources faster. If you dont use any android apps at all you will notice a difference. The official 10.3.1 release will cleanse these issues. The passport needs the ram for the unoptimized os and the resolution. All devices with high resolution require ram and battery.

Could have sworn at least 100mb has always been missing for me. But then again I've been on leaks for 50% of the time at least so...

Edit: Yup 200mb unaccounted for on 10.3.1.1949 right now.
