Popped open BB Assistant today and it instantly said the voice input was not recognized. I already disabled full assistance because those services have been shut down.

"The third-party cloud service that supports the "Full Assistance" functionality in BlackBerry Assistant will also be turned off. Our partnership with the third-party provider that supports "Full Assistance" has ended and they have chosen not to renew it. BlackBerry Assistant will continue to be available, albeit in a more limited function. Users will still be able to make calls, open apps, play music and search their device."

I suppose users are still able to "make calls, open apps, play music and search their device" with BB Assistant, but they have to manually type in what they want to do lol.

I thought that was only for certain services integrated with BB Assistant, pretty sure voice input worked up until recently? It's odd BB would say BB Assistant is still usable for basic services when in reality you have to type in everything, largely defeating the purpose of the assistant.

I'm not sure I understand this discussion. I can still use Assistant to do Google searches, which is all I ever used it for anyway.

I have an original Passport with 10.3.3 on T-Mobile and if I hold down the Mute key and say "Google Darth Vader" and then release the key it thinks about it for around 15 seconds and then launches the correct search in the built-in browser.

I am not sure about that 15 seconds. I *think* it is giving me a chance to edit the parsed command before submitting it to Google, but I never verified that.

BlackBerry Assistant voice input is no longer functional-img_20200129_091147.png

Hmm... I always get an error instantly when I hit the microphone button. The ! triangle is from full assistance being off, but I tried turning it on and the same thing happened.
