The ART can only benefit blackberry, as the art removes all native arm code. It actually means more apps will be available and at quicker speeds

Well that's good. Huh I had almost forgotten what I started this thread for in my last post o.O

Am I to understand that ART is more portable than Dalvik or that native arm instructions are no longer allowed in android apps? That would put a leash on optimization at an application level. But I suppose it could be worth it for compatibility.

I'll be interested in the answer too, since my understanding is that the optimisation is obtained by compiling DEX to native binary, which would be ARM code.

As everybody knows I been playing with Run Times, There is something called ART Checker free in the playstore, I have been checking different runtimes. 110's, back and all the way up. When I switch and open ART it usually says the same but runtime 172 being all lonesome stood out to me for some reason, when I checked it, it said Dalvik 4.3 api 18 vm version 1.6.0. Where as the others say ART. Did I discover Electric or make myself look silly?...

Did they try something with us with .172 and quickly pull he plug?...

We kind of got used to the term ART. You're right that it's actually Dalvik, ART didn't got released until 4.4 as a preview and 5.0 as the replacement.

Why would you want to go way back to that old version? All for Showbox?

Don't care about Showbox, I made a rookie mistake of installing the ART in BlackBerry World on PassportSQW100-1/10.3.3.2205 when I was getting a black screen on Android apps. It seemed to be ok for a while (3 weeks) but the issue has resurfaced and if. 172 is more stable then I'm willing to try.

    You can, yes.

Reboot after install, then wait 10 minutes for it to properly initialize and settle.

Done! Now we wait. One reboot is enough? Are these the bars extracted from 2205 or newer? Thanks again

From 10.3.3.3057. But they are the same as 2205.

    One reboot is plenty.

Autoloader. More than just the Runtime is corrupt.

Use Ultimate Backup instead of Link if you need to backup something.

Thanks I will give that a go.

And what about non-destructive? Could I use "blitz 2205 to 3057.zip" on Sachesi by drag and dropping the zip in the install window?

No. Only an autoloader will clear the corruption.
