I usually keep my z30 on all the time, and at night in bedside mode. The alarm works fine. But recently I turned off the device to discover that the alarm does not function in this case . This is different from my old bbos phone for which the alarm still comes on when the device was turned off. Alarms are too important... they should go off in all cases!

I'm coming from a different perspective on this one. I'm a classical musician and I'm frequently in situations where my phone is on stage with me - when I turn that thing off, I need to know if's OFF. I don't want any alarms, notifications, or anything audible coming from that phone.

I agree with both above posts... ^^^^^^

Now, if you want the alarms to always ring...leave them on! Silence ringers and notifications and the alarms still work if you turn up the volume. Completely different setting in the alarm app when you select the "alarm tone".

I understand. But I see this as a case of turning off notifications. I see the alarm as quite separate.. its one you set for a distinct purpose... its not coming from anyone else. For me it should never fail to go off.

Wait you say he turns off his phone to turn off notifications? So instead of spending 5 seconds in total turning off and on the notifications right from the dropdown menu, he spends like 10 minutes to turn on and off his phone? And he even comes here bashing the phone that alarms don't go off this way? Wow
