Supa, I think he might be referring to bbqkidd's post, and not the Stuff I Need app I mentioned, which you hate.

I use Remember for my grocery list. And as I'm shopping I can click or check mark the items one by one as I get them. Tada!

Do what kind of research exactly? Is he supposed to Google "What's the most frustrating non-iOS or Android phone I can get for my full-fare $550?" ?

I like my Z10 but it's got some core functionality issues (Contacts management in particular) that should never have seen the light of day.

    Flame away.

Personally, I use a Web app called 'Trello' for task management and lists. On my BB10, I added a bookmark to my 'To Do' list.

I saw in BlackBerry World that a native Trello app may be on the way soon. The current one only allows you to view lists. However, I find using it via the browser works just fine.

If you haven't tried Trello, it has a few unique features. (No, I don't work for them.) You create a 'Board' with 'Lists' on it and add/move 'cards' to different lists.

For example, my 'To Do' board has four lists:

    1. To Do
    2. Doing
    3. Done
    4. Finished Products

So let's say I need to grade some exams. I'll make a card that says 'Grade Exams' in my 'To Do' list. When I start doing the grading, I move it to 'Doing' and when I finish, I move the card to 'Done.'

Another cool feature is that each card can contain its own list or links to document. For a list within a card, as you tick each item, the card displays 'Percent Done.'

There are also a bunch of collaboration features for group tasks.

Anyway, I wouldn't plug it so hard if I didn't think it was worth a look for most of you, and I really hope the native BlackBerry app is soon to arrive.

    Cheers.

I have had my Q10 for 36 hours now. And already BB10 is driving me nuts. All the reasons I never went Apple have arrived--non intuitive gestures. But worst of all, two (so far) of the essential features (for me) of my 9900 are missing: (1) no categories in contacts; (2) can't BBM myself--the quickest and most efficient way to create a grocery list I ever saw.

Get it together BlackBerry--why are all the little nuances missing????

There are better ways to create a grocery list such as the app "Stuff I need ". Give it a try.

The thing I like about "Stuff I Need" is that it has check boxes beside the items, with an option to remove items as soon as the boxes are ticked. It also supports multiple lists, which is great for keeping lists organised, so I can have permanent lists for different stores, To-do lists, etc

Ha! Reminds me a similar, simple little app from my Palm Vx days.......I miss my Palm....sniff....

For grocery lists, create a grocery list group in BBM, and use the list in that group
    Or use the Remember app....

In my own defence: I didn't have much choice in the Q10 (work provided) but I'm quite sure research would not easily have picked up these problems--you have to use it to learn it.

As to the Stuff I Need and other apps, what I need is simplicity. One place to keep notes and random thoughts, without it being mixed up with my many work-related Remember entries, and without having to muck about creating checklists or having menu choices to link pictures, etc. One of the reasons BBM is THE iconic app for BlackBerry is the simplicity of it--just type and go. It is way more effective a quick notetaking tool than all the other apps, and it is right there, probably the secondmost used feature of the phone. I cannot possibly be the only one who used BBM in this way.

I email myself notes all the time. On the Q10 you have type and go or whatever it's called. So if you have two email accounts set up on the device just email yourself from account a to account b. Just as fast as BBM.

Don't get it, I have tried at least 5 different apps dedicated to do shopping lists, some really good, and you want to use BBM (a instant messenger app) to keep shopping lists??? Uh? Lol, to each it own...

BlackBerry Remember is fantastic for this purpose, it's part of the core apps on the OS, and it is what BlackBerry will be focusing on going forward.
