I setup the Chromecast to my Wifi network using an itouch. BlackBerry still does not see it.

So I'm guessing cast is the way to go?
Also wondering if I can cast my own video? Or is this only to cast youtube, Netflix etc..

I would die without my Chromecast. On BB10, I don't bother with the Chromecast app so I haven't tried to cast through the app. If you have a Chromecast though, the Netflix app on BB10 will show the cast symbol and allow you to cast to it. About six months ago I tried this and it didn't work but it does now because I used it yesterday. I haven't tried YouTube. On BB10, there are no solutions to cast local media but this is possible on Android.

I've returned chrome cast. It sucks.

I'm all about the built in miracast on my Z30. Between that and the play on feature that works with my miracast device I'm golden.

Just out of curiosity, what didn't you like about the Chromecast?

You need apps to make it work.

Miracast is built into the phone. I can image my entire phone or just use play on to push video/music/pictures to the TV.

I don't want additional apps that work like crap

Ah. Thanks for the input. I'm always curious to hear what others prefer to the Chromecast.

Also just tested Playon with bbm video on 10.3. Works amazing.
I love my BB10 and wouldn't trade it for anything!

I updated my Z10 to .1154. Chromecast icon stopped showing up in Netflix. I reloaded phone with .1130, and Netflix will still not cast. I recently updated Netflix. I'm thinking the problem might be the newest version of Netflix. Has anyone had luck with an older version of netflix?

I just installed an older version and cast works again. V 3.1.2 build 1142. The problem is with the new version.

I played around with other versions and the latest version that works with cast is 3.5.1

The Amazon Netflix works fine (unless you have a ChromeCast and run leaks ).

BlackBerry 10 with Google Chromecast no longer working?-img_20140922_084917.png

The recent Netflix update did something to the chromecast code obviously.....even in the update description they say "enhanced chromecast integration " but obviously not for bb10 users...

Older version works fine for now......

I just reported the bug to Netflix support and they actually listened. I told them that the app used to work on my Z10 and now the cast button dissapeared. After telling me that they officially do not support blackberries, here is what they had to say:

"I too have a Blackberry and I do see how it would be an awesome addition to that device. I have gone ahead and made a request on your account so that my team can see how anxious you are to have us work with RIM partners to get the service fully rolled out......I've also passed the information over to my engineers as well and they'll definitely look into it"

I am hoping that the more people complain about the bug the more Netflix will realize that that they need to support blackberry.

Wow that is good news.....hopefully the next update fixes the problem......but it would be even better if Netflix could make a native app available in bbw...
