No. Explain how something hidden away with a gesture is good in term of usability. I work with many customers who have struggled to find settings. Do you like reaching towards the very top of the phone? Do you like juggling your phone around in your hand doing so? I think not. Anything optimized for 1 hand usage should have frequently accessed elements placed in the lower half of the screen. This is how you make large devices usable with 1 hand by not putting things at the very top of the screen whenever possible. Not at all gestures as useful and the top gesture is one of them. People can learn the top gesture but the problem is not every app has settings. There is no feedback that tells you that you're doing the gesture right or wrong.

I feel like there are changes to the way BlackBerry 10 looks on the way. The new incoming call screen is flat. BlackBerry Express is flat, the new volume display is black and white.. things are slowly changing.

Yup. The increased effort to continue with the flat design is definitely appreciated. It's a good looking, understated operating system. I think they could push it further in many areas, but it's still evolving.

I really prefer the look to Android and iOS7 (look at the difference between 1.2.1 drawer vs iOS drawer. So much better. A masculine UI ages better than a feminine one, in my opinion. The same is true of architecture and interior design.

So BB10 is the best looking UI, I think. And WindowsPhone8 would be be, but it's too cluttered.

I just wish that it could be called BBX.

One thing I know for sure that can give bb10 fresher look is system font setting like on the bbos. Don't know how BlackBerry forget to back this into the OS. Looking forward to it.. overall. I don't think it's dated. It can't be, it's too unique!

I somehow got the feeling that they will have a big comeback.
From what I know leaks beyond 10.2.1.1055 contain the customizable fonts, so I'd guess they bring back the features of the legacy devices and this might include themes. Although this might take a while til it makes it's debut on BB10.

Well, I'm going to agree with the op in some respects. BB10 does in some ways look dated, it could look better. The icons and the shade area around them are not particularly pretty. The active frames are very angular.

If you're talking about a screenshot that pttpppt posted, that was faked. He claimed that it was from a new leak and it had slightly different typeface.

Could some apps use polish and or redesign? Absolutely. The icons, contacts app, call screen (10.2.1), lockscreen, BlackBerry world, pictures and stock music UI need a more modern design.

I do like the classy more professional design though. If I wanted a rainbow brite phone or something made by the Nyan cat then I would have bought a iPhone or Lumia.

I'm guessing you will see a refresh of some sort with 10.3 and the TAT team will modernize it more.
