    I updated my Q10 to 10.3.1 a couple of months back and I finally got around to installing Android apps from the Amazon store.

    I tried installing the third app and I got a pop-up saying that I didn't have enough space to install it.

    Why is BlackBerry still making phones with 16gb of on-board storage if the BB10 OS takes up most of that space?

    What are they thinking?

    They aren't thingking anything. Since this is a bug that does not happen often, they probably don't even know about it. You know, the OS and it's apps only take around 4GB.

    But I assume you want a solution, not to rant, so try this:

    1. Double check using the Files app that you are not holding too much waste into device memory;
    2. While you're at it, move images/movies/videos/downloads/etc to the SD card;
    3. You don't have an SD card? Maybe that's the problem;
    4. Once eveything is on the SD card, look into /misc/android for cache stuff you can delete;
    5. Finally check device monitor for the available space;
    6. Hold the top buttom untill you see a red LED followed by the BlackBerry logo.

    That should do it. And next time you need help, try not to rant, it grants you no sympathy.

    Try a wipe, installing a leaked version.

    Yep yer install is bugged. Likely from previous update files that didn't get cleaned up after installation. Not that common of a bug, but not unheard of either. Bash on BlackBerry all you want, but at least we have real tools for fixing these kinds of problems.

    It's an easy fix: backup your contacts and any media you want to keep, then autoload a more recent OS. The latest versions of 10.3.1 are quite stable. Avoid restoring backups from BlackBerry Link as it will restore settings from the previous OS and that is known to cause issues sometimes. I just use the storage on the SIM for my contacts and all my pics go to the SD card.

    This is what your storage space should look like:

    What could be the best, security wipe before OTA update or after update?

    It would be much faster and less prone to OTA errors if you simply download and run the most recent autoloader. It wipes your device too. Quick, clean install - no need to do anything else.

    Define clean. The cleanest is the one, @conite provided and the closest one to fresh-out-of-factory state.

    I installed 10.3.2 and I'm still being told that I don't have enough space.

    For those who are bashing me for being pissed off, I've spent a lot of time trouble shooting my Q10 for all kinds of different reasons over the past couple of years and although the Q10 has more positives than negatives (same goes for my iPhone) I'm not spending really any time doing the same with iOS.

    BlackBerry is way ahead with it's OS over all the other ones but it would be nice if I wasn't running into problem after problem with my Q10 ):

    Unless there's some kind of restriction on apk's outside of the Amazon store that I haven't heard of yet, I'm stumped.

    I see the space problem is gone. One less issue to worry about. Did you use an autoloader? Did you restore from a backup
