That is netmarketshare's own database, references & customization.... the report that I mentioned is by another source / agency called "Strategy Analytics", which must be using more sensible & reliable data.

Also, netmarketshare site doesn't seem to be referring to browser traces while providing information about "Mobile/Tablet Operating System Market Share".
As you said, the only 100% reliable way to know the numbers is carriers releasing info by active imei on the network and classify that data by phone brand and model.

Netmarketshare needs browser traces so that they can slice the numbers by os version and browser version as they do.

Just a guess, but maybe his point is that Apple deliver on their promises?
He didn't mention any promises. That's why I asked what his point was, I could guess, but it is easier if he just states what point he was attempting to make.

I assume they are going to give the current BBOS10 people the opportunity to buy DTEKs, then they'll release 10.3.3 to the leftover fans.

And what they will bring with 10.3.3 that will make people lose interest on the dteks?

If we were inclined to buy DTEK devices, we would have done it already. I will be migrating iWards, but in my own time. I am not alone in this. Many have already gone.

Such a cynical post ... I might well have written it myself! LOL

Though, I think you are being too optimistic.

From the posts that I've seen here, I reckon the BB10 people left are the hard-core who would sooner gnaw their own arms off at the elbow than buy any Google-infused spyware device... even a BlackBerry Android device is unlikely to attract them IMHO. So they'll stay on BB10 (or move to WinPhone or iOS) regardless of whether 10.3.3 comes or not.

Meanwhile, BB has little incentive to hurry-up and bring out 10.3.3. 1) Seeing the reality of what 10.3.3 contains is more likely to disappoint instead of please those who have waited so long already... and 2) BB already has your money and releasing 10.3.3. won't earn them a penny more.

I believe the most updated component of 10.3.3 will be the browser to comply with new html5 standards.

Half an hour ago I had a "problem" with a client logistics platform that they have on the Web. I selected the document but the products wouldn't load to fill in the quantities.

No worries! I have bb10! Installed firefox apk and got the job done.

So yes, the native Web browser needs updated components and I think it will be the major work done with this update.

I'm running the 10.3.3 browser, and apart from an anti-phish filter, nothing else seems different.

Its HTML score is not any better.

What 10.3.3? Beta? Maybe it's not visible at first glance but maybe it can open code that 10.3.2 browser can't. Can you post your browser user agent?

I am never going to buy another blackberry branded devices. They 've become a joke, not only because of 10.3.3 but because of the way BlackBerry is handling the bb10 altogether. This is exactly the way they handled the playbook. What is to say they wouldnt do this to the android BlackBerry?

You and the person who wrote that post should have read the original source more closely, rather than blindly assuming it was new information. Check the date on the original source. Even the link you posted is old. All those features have already been released in 10.3.2.

The latter, for the sheer novelty factor. We've had the former since the day 10.3.2 came out.

The longer the wait for 10.3.3 the stupider the expectations for it. I'm guessing that there will be quite a few people outraged that that "changelog" (wish list) from some schmuck's blog in Tunisia didn't actually happen.

I am just going from my own feelings. Don't know how many are of my same mind, though. I'm on my Z30 and have been waiting for what I consider an upgrade - the DTEK60, but if 10.3.3 has enough to keep my Z30 at least bearable, I could stay on my Z30 for awhile longer, while if it the os update doesn't come out soon, I'll get fed up and get a DTEK60, which increases profitability for BlackBerry, while me keeping my current phone doesn't.

Copied from the "BB10.3.3 will be *September" thread. Credit to Vistaus. 10.3.3 will consist of:

New anti-phishing feature in the browser, a few new NFC settings, security fixes, Android Runtime fixes, NIAP.

    That's all the new/improved stuff in 10.3.3.

Only you can decide if that's worth hanging-on for, but ... if it were me in your position, I'd be buying a DTEK60 tomorrow. Just sayin'

Ignore those huge lists of 10.3.3 improvements, UI changes, additional features and new development that you see periodically posted here. They are completely fictitious fantasies - a dream from a BB10 fan who ate too much cheese before bedtime.

Well, I think the folks who handicapped their phones with the dev version will love 10.3.3 because it makes their bb10 operable again. The rest of us won't see much difference.

True, but I consider it a learning experience from which the smarter ones will learn.

I'm sure they'll read warnings carefully in the future, especially in scenarios more important than smartphones OS's where ignoring the warnings often carries heavier consequences!
