Chen has promised 10.3.4 after 10.3.3. I assume 10.3.3 maybe ready and they started working on 10.3.4 (don't know what will 10.3.4 is about to bring?)
I promise you that 9 comes after 8.

'While we are not commenting on our future plans at this time'

Most enterprise-focused organizations lay out clear product lifecycles for their products so that enterprises know exactly how long the products they have purchased will be supported and maintained. For example, Microsoft supports its OS and office software for 10 years total from the day of release. Red Hat supports its version of Linux for 7 years or something like that, while Ubuntu is 5 years or so.

This creates predictability and gives confidence to buy the company's products.

But BlackBerry ... doesn't do this. When it decides to EOL a product, it does so SUDDENLY. One day a product is 'apparently' fully supported and even being sold, then the next day an announcement is made that it is being retired in x days or months. It 'doesn't comment' on its plans for supporting its future products, but simply decides to retire products whenever it feels like it.

If I was a decision-maker or a purchaser for a big organization, this lack of transparency on BB's part would deter me from investing in their products.

If update doesn't come soon, then we assume thIS DEADLINE is extended / pushed-back.
    https://www.cse-cst.gc.ca/en/canadia...uation-product

Still in evaluation as of today. Even if CSE finally certifies 10.3.3 today then BlackBerry still needs to prepare the roll-out. Maybe they already prepared their infrastructure, but then they still need to push it to select devices first before they can start rolling it out in Canada and the USA (followed by a global roll-out).

So it's not gonna be October.

I will not update to 10.3.3 because:

    - Current os version is super stable and there are no bugs that i need to be corrected.
    - I don't need NIAP
    - They will remove the stock facebook app an replace it with the Web version when the os is updated, killing the integration (that's what I believe)
    - No major features will come with this new version unless some updated certs and other minor things.
    - Rule of thumb is if it's working don't update until you know it won't bring new bugs.

Further reading makes me believe that the regular user will not get 10.3.3

I think that the phone only gets the update when tied to BES and a security policy to enable niap. After meeting these requirements the phone downloads the version from the BlackBerry server.

So why are they already announcing 10.3.3 and future version only on BES documentation?

BlackBerry turned to a software company but only for the enterprise, not regular people.

Apple didn't have to wait for NIAP+CSE certification (currently still in evaluation) like BlackBerry.

The strange thing about that page though is that it mentions NIAP support for BES 12.4 even though CSE shows BES 12.3 waiting for evaluation. Sure, 12.4 will contain it as well but that would mean that'd skip the certified (if ever) 12.3 and go straight to 12.4?
