Yup I don't like it.as well but I sgi use because I have to. Most annoying part of specifying the times of your appointments.with that annoying vertical scroll field. Almost impossible to get it right the.first time. BlackBerry really needs to focus.on this. Been.iskng leaks ever since Z10 came on the market and there were some pretty decent if not fantastic iterations of it.

As long as it is a change for the better, an improvement per se. And not a step backwards. If i may ask, what phone did you had prior to Classic?

Rocking a Q5 Q10 Z10 Z30 call me a fanatic. Think skip the passport for now and get that wicked looking BlackBerry slider. By that time the passport will be much cheaper in price always by my phones outright. Contracts are a joke. You pay like 3 times as much as the device is actually worth.

Is there any functional drawbacks on this 10.3.0 Calendar compared to the current one? Or is the current one just a cosmetic change over this?
    There is none.

Those bars from 10.3.0 do bring back a better looking and more productive calendar.

However, that comes at a cost. I've a Classic, and when I used those bars the calendar was riddled with bugs, so much so that I switched back. Basic things like "N" for the next month and "T" for going back to "today" did not work. It also did not fully interact with the trackpad.

A real shame it never fully worked, as I was so glad to have had that useful Calendar back. :-(

Did you test it with only the calendar bar and not using the other 2 bars.
    It's included in post #424. I'm using a Z10.

Yes, I used all bars (as you so kindly provided).

I guess the fact I'm using a Classic made it buggy.

So on a Z10 the older Calendar works just as good as the current one and just looks better?

Judging from the posts, it would seem so.

I can imagine it will also work and look good on the Q10 aswell.

It's the slightly different interface (trackpad) which makes the Classic variant buggy. Also, I don't think the classic will function correctly on anything less than 10.3.1

    Reply to bBOLD723 post #424 -

Thanks for the files, much appreciated - I may be willing to attempt upgrading with this as a possibility for my Z30, there's no way the new Calendar is usable for me in its current state.

Unfortunately the attachments aren't showing and the links don't work for me, not sure why.

By the way, what is the difference between the files in #424 and the files supplied earlier ("fix4Cal")? Apart from the version no., I note there are three files in the earlier post and only two in the #424 files - one of which appears to be a7-zip of the same .bar in the zip folder ?

    Cheers all,
    Brian

That was the best calendar ever. I still enjoy the look on my PlayBook.
It is beyond my imagination why some ****** had to change this perfect rendering of a calendar into this goofy infantile toy looking garbage we have now.

Noticed something weird about the 10.3.1.1767 Calendar on my Z30 today (it's probably a bug). The 22nd of March is missing from the Monthly and Agenda views (it shows two 21s instead!).

    Indeed it was.

So a 10.2.1 will bring it back!

Come to think of it, I loved the 10.2.1.1155 (I think that's the name / number). That was a great OS.

I'll try the autoloader on it when the phone arrives on Tuesday. I had to sell my other Q10... long story, but in short I bought me another Q10. I digress!!

Well, I'll load the OS and bask in the glory of what was a mighty and efficient calendar.

Unbelievable how bad this calendar is. Not functional, full of bugs. Whoever was responsible for bringing this to life should be fired along with Clewley that must have accepted it.

Got to a point when yesterday a friend of mine was showing me his new Google calendar on android phone. It looked good. I was unable to return the favour. I thought if I show him this bloody mess of blobs he will laugh at me to death.

If it was a Google calendar on Android, it couldn't possibly have looked good. Google wouldn't know a good UI if someone slapped them with one.

I think I'll try loading those bars on my Z10. I don't want to go back to 10.2.1 to get it.

For everyone interested in a work around to the 3.1 calendar, you need to replace 3.1 calendar bar with any 3.0 calendar. Bar from 2.1 will not work.. The bug that causes the month to change when held in portrait mode is gone.

    re post #446:
The first time I tried this out, I installed all 3 files from see if it would work. As I tried different OSes, I noticed that only the main calendar bar seemed to make any difference. The last test I did, only the calendar bar was changed. Everything else is from the current OS.
The bar is uploaded in post #423.
