Aaaalrighty, I'm looking at it now too and I will try it when the download is finished. I tried finding the latest 10.3.0 and what I could find is the 10.3.0.1418.

I hot those files extracted. Got the autoloader 10.3.0.1418 from the OS archive provided by Thurask (thank you very much at this point!!). Then I extracted those three files via sachesi. It worked well and it's really easy to make. Thank you both for that.

I'll try installing those via sachesi tomorrow to see how it works.

I just looked at the 10.3.1 calendar and I must say this is by far the second worst ever right after the Android calendar.

Many thanks, I could not find a version of a 10.3.0

The only one I found and thought was good turned out to be corrupted.

Thanks for the help again Thurask

So you just overwrite the newer existing files with those using Sachesi

Unfortunately, it does not display my calendars because it looks through the Android system settings for the calendars. But maybe someone who's better at such things can figure how to get it working.

    Thanks for that.

Though, I hate ports. I just want the generic one to work. I want BlackBerry to fix what they broke, and i'm confident that they will..... eventually.

Heh I was going to post those screen shots also. They are an excellent example of what is possible in a good month view. Not exactly like the 10.2 calendar, but perhaps even better.

I've placed the bars and was very happy with the new look, or should I say the look that works.

BUT, I had to place back the new bars... too many bugs in that old one. :-(

So, I'm back to this bad look. :-(

I also prefer to avoid a port for such a fundamental function, but I was exploring my options for the worst case scenario. I just don't understand how removing power user features and becoming less distinct from other platforms will help to retain users. Yes, I'm a BlackBerry fan, but I do understand that iOS and Android have matured to a point that they are compelling alternatives for many users.

Well, the only thing that I recently noticed is that Blocks (squares) represent all day appointment / events. And you have 2 different colours so I know you have 2 calendars.

Now, here is the tricky bit... each dot may represent anywhere from 1 event to a full day of events! And that's the nonsensical thing about this new calendar. You CANNOT tell by just looking from a month view how busy each day is! To do so, would mean drilling in more, say go to single day or week view, but that requires another action! Which is counter productive / efficient.

BlackBerry is about efficiency, NOT non efficiency.

I agree. A port / alternative as NEVER been needed before on a BlackBerry device for such a basic (yet complex and fundamental function).

BlackBerry calendar of past has been VERY robust and totally productive.

Kinda amazing how many things they screwed up making this new OS.
What I don't understand is that OK, the BBOS was outdated, but that doesn't mean that they had to make a superior new OS and butcher functionality and layout and graphics in some areas like they did.
And all this in a desperate move to make it look like all the other toys out there...
This BB10 has so much potential, yet they waste time with stuff that didn't need to be messed with, instead of focusing on what really matters.
More focus on functions than UI changing around that nobody needed.

I'm somewhat inclined to agree with you on this... I say somewhat, as I totally love BB10 and the UI. BUT, I have to agree with you on how so much was going on in BB7 that just got butchered instead of being transferred.

There are endless things in BB7 that needed to be in BB10 to make it even better than it already is. We have even seen great features taken away from 10.2 that would have contributed to making 10.3 a great all-round success had they been kept.

I've said it more than once before and i'll say again, "I'm confident that BlackBerry will listen to its consumers and bring back the best of both world in an OS"... eventually. Sadly, 10.3 in its entirety is not that OS.

It seems they tried to chase after users on other platforms, which is a noble pursuit. However, these users were either never on BBOS or they switched. The first group is unlikely to switch to BB10 because their OS never had them. The second group is likely somewhat platform agnostic because a nice UI trumps power user features; if productivity features mattered they would have never switched. No point chasing after the first group, you'll never get them until BlackBerry becomes trendy. As for the second group, providing a nice UI but removing the features makes BlackBerry indistinguishable from other platforms, removing the incentive to switch back.

Go after the core business user who will sacrifice a lot for productivity. Go after the users who kept their Bolds because the latest and greatest could still not touch BlackBerry for pure business productivity.

I actually know that. What im asking is as far as schedule is concerned - time, duration, vacant days, full days due to multiple appointments, and so on.

After the release of 10.2.1, I too felt confident that they would do that.
But look at this new OS, that we waited over a year for.. Nothing is fixed from before and much of what was working, now, is either buggy, is removed or both.
The reality is, that in two years they haven't done anything to make it better, other then improving the ability to edit (which was absurdly time consuming and frustrating) and allow the ability to sync w/ Apple platforms (if and when you can get Link to work.) And they certainly haven't listened to us.
I repeat, it's been over two years..... What does that tell you?
Since I joined CrackBerry I've been reading comments like yours "hopefully with the next update we'll see an improvement in "x"" etc.
We've been strung along with a Hope that hasn't come or has fallen far short of deserved expectations.
All the while BlackBerry has been p_$sing on us while the fan boys have been telling us it's just raining.

For everyone interested in a work around to the 3.1 calendar, you need to replace 3.1 calendar bar with any 3.0 calendar. Bar from 2.1 will not work.. The bug that causes the month to change when held in portrait mode is gone.
Comparing 3.1 calendar before and after replacing with bar from 3.0.

Is there any functional drawbacks on this 10.3.0 Calendar compared to the current one? Or is the current one just a cosmetic change over this?
