For me, in 10.3.1, opening the calendar causes the weird flickering, and sometimes is followed by temporary blackscreen if I have the CB app open. Being able to view tasks on the monthly view is the only concrete improvement to the calendar since 10.0.x.

I'm considering running the last version of 10.2.1 on the Q10 until the Calendar app is fixed.

That's what I'm doing on my Q10, at least until the next update comes out. Based on what I've experienced and read, I'm not touching 10.3.1 on the daily driver. I need the Q10 for my business and it's a big disruption and risk if it's not functional for me. I don't need that hassle. Life is complicated enough already!

In the meantime I'm tinkering with 10.3.1 on the Z30 at home at night which is sort of a experiment tool at this point.

If it's this bad then, it looks like I'm going to be getting rid of BlackBerry in part, because of the liability the phone has become due to the Calendar not able to meet our needs in time critical situations.
So do Android, iOS or Windows Phone provide a Calendar that works for you?
If yes, is it enough to live with the rest of those ecosystems?
Not trying to start an argument, just curious.

well they do have tons of 3rd party calendars that work as native ones.

and take a look at this, notice the elephant in the room

You really shouldn't need a bar to tell you how long a meeting is. A note of it should be sufficient. As long as it doesn't allow you to overlap appointments i really dnt see what the big fuss is.

A 15 minute meeting is very different from a 3 hour meeting. I have a lot of free time with the former, not so much with the latter.

Yes,they did. They obtained an Android and an Apple phone and compared and the head of project said: Yep, looks just as goofy now as theirs, let's do it.

Curious Question to those using the 10.3 calendar.

If BB gave us back the 10.2 Month view with growing numbers, color bars scheme....... and kept everything else 10.3. Could you adapt. Would you be happy enough about the changes? I think I might but I don't use 10.3

Yes! I love the new look of 10.3, including new functions/capabilities. And I'm adapting to it. It is just the calendar that doesn't make sense for me. Looks should not be the key for a calendar app but functionality, especially for a BlackBerry phone.

So if I'll have the option to stick to a 10.2 calendar in a 10.3 OS, that will be perfect.

Getting rid of the stupid green color scheme would help.

It's a huge disruption. The problems this "update" have caused me has been time consuming and very stressful.
I'm tired of waiting on BlackBerry. My clients would stop using us if I provided them with a product this bad.
Like a winning F1 team, If you want to achieve success, you have to surround yourself with great people and use great products.
BlackBerry's consistent mediocrity in execution with a number of aspects of OS10, shows that it no longer fits the criteria of a great company capable of producing a winning product.
I like my Q10 but it's time to move to a winning product for my company.

Hear hear. Subjectively 10.2 was still readable to me with the vertical bar with appointments and day sizes dependent on how "full" they are. I actually liked it to an extent, and on Windows Mobile (a business oriented OS) there used to be apps that would do exactly the same. 10.3.1 is useless, dots and bold dates everywhere. What a pitiful regression.

I did not realize how reliant on the visual queues from the 10.2 calendar I was. A simple glance in a month view would allow me to know when I had time to fill. This new calendar lacks that information. In fact it makes me look busier than I actually am.

One week in and I am very keen to return to the original calendar.

I for one am not happy with the calendar, I hate that in AGENDA mode, the dates are in weekly time frames at the top....just not a smooth fast interface with the user.

I don't know how but I got an AGENDA view on my 10.3.1 OS calendar without any update for my Z10, before it was not there. But still hate the looks and UK of new calendar, biiiiggggggg dots all over.

Rest of all excellent with 10.3.1.

I am not being unreasonable here

They can even keep the new calendar look, bust just add the vertical bar somehow, like the 10.3 calendar.
