I've seen some threads on best radio on best os, etc.. this information is only helpful if you are in the same region. so since i am in chicago and on verizon, i'm only interested in others people success here

so lets have it guys! i've had great success on 10.3.1.939 radio until i installed 1949 OS. now i'm on 1949 + 939 and having BB icon disappearing on me quite often, always have to reboot phone to get it back. had same problem on 1949 + 1950.

so please help.

I'm on VZW in New York. (not Central USA). I have 1949 and radio 1005 and am NOT receiving the call failure error anymore. So I am happy. Never had any other issue with my radio except for the call failure message when trying to make an outgoing call. Started recently and I feel it's probably the network and NOT my OS. But VZW does not admit any issue....

Next time you have a problem with calls after an upgrade, try turning phone off, remove SIM card, wait 30 to 60 seconds.
Reinsert and fire up phone. This came from a Verizon support page. Verizon Z30 STA 100-3 running 10.3.1.2072. No problems with calls.

I think it has to do with IMS being enabled on newer radios that isn't playing too well with VZW's network. Even if you disabled sub-functions of it, it would still say "Connected".

Or you can just cycle airplane mode on/off

My call issues revolve around WiFi it seems. I only get this issue when I miss or deny a call and then try to make a call while on WiFi still.

Airplane mode toggle fixes it and I can call immediately

I'm in Chicago, on Verizon, and I'm on OS 1016 with radio 1017, and I have great reception and have not had any occurrences of the "call failure" message, though I did on past OS/radio combos. This is truly why I have not loaded up any newer leak, which I have always done. Too good to mess with, IMHO.

Verizon, Chicago, Z30x2, zero problems, any 10.3.1 including Z30STA100-3/10.3.1.2072. Previously a Z10 and Z30 on all leaks prior to 2072, zero problems.

Cleveland/ Ohio/PA line. Verizon Q10 with 2072/2073 radio. Working swell, none of the issues with calls not connecting or wifi that others are reporting. Anecdotally, signal seems better than 1155.

I am getting no data over wireless network on Verizon in the pacific northwest. WiFi works fine but mobile network shows up as "4g LTE - Voice Only". Not sure what the problem is. No amount of soft/hard rebooting or airplane mode or on/off of the radio will fix it.

Just west of Chicago and both of the last leaks I would get random call failures, the network is busy, try again. Haven't had that with the 1005 radio. I'm unsure of text because I don't get many.

Well I figured out what the problem was with only getting voice all the time, I followed a guide on stripping out files to make more room on the device. Specifically this post which included deleting carrier_data file as "useless", which it clearly isn't:

21/08/2014 21:55 1.034.403 sys.data.carrier_data-10.3.0.1533.bar carrier specific, since it's a leaked OS this is useless

Also this thread mentions removing it, but at least it includes a proviso "lack of functionality can occur", however adobe reader and language files are also in this list.

Now I still don't get fully working data all the time. It was going in and out before I deleted that file a few days ago and the only thing that seemed to fix it was a reboot of the phone at the time.

I just loaded 1005. Sachesi still says the wrong radio under "device " but the phone settings menu shows 1005. I'm assuming that was the same before. I'll post back tomorrow if things are improved.
