    I need to monitor the sms of a blackberry phone, among other things, such as web history. If I u derstand correctly BES itself is free, you just have to pay for CAL's. Is this link what I need to get at least one phone up and running?

    No. You need the whole BES software, a server to install it on, etc. A CAL is nothing without something to connect to. There's a reason they say 'Contact Sales' on the BES page... it's because it potentially costs thousands to get up and running. Unless you're trying to jerryrig it on your cable modem heh - https://ca.blackberry.com/enterprise
