- Agreed, tried 10.2.0.1047 for more than a week, still not stable enough for my needs. Several Apps didn't work properly and battery life was poorer. Although I loved the overall feel of it, I'd rather wait until the quirks are out before adopting for every day needs.

kfh227 likes this.08-19-13 11:03 PMLike 1 - Can I sideload 10.2.0.1323 browser into this build? I like the auto hide address bar feature of 10.2 browser?
Thanks in advance.
EDIT: I've just sideloaded the 10.2.0.37 browser from .1323 build. I can use browser as normal however can find where to enable autohide the address bar.
I'm not sure beside sys.browser bar, should any other bar files that i need to sideload? Or Autohide bar is already an built-in feature and all I need is to find way to enable it?
Any guidance into this is welcome.

Posted via CB1008-20-13 01:50 AMLike 0 - OmnitechDragon SlayerThe STL100-1 doesn't have a proper "4G" capable radio. It's only certified to run at Dual-Carrier HSPA "3G" speeds. What you saw in 10.2 was the a bug, so far as that the Operator you are with hasn't signed it's configuration file with BBRY that denotes things like how network technologies are displayed.
For some operators like TmoUS, they purposefully show DC-HSPA as 4G purely for marketing, as to be fair, there's not much in 4G and DC 3G speed wise.
For all other GSMA operators, the indicator will show true network technology (H, H+, 4G LTE) etc.
Actually until the large carriers politicized it and essentially strong-armed the ITU into changing the original definition, the term "4G" actually had a specific meaning. (ie minimum raw data rate of 100mbps, all-IPv6 topology, etc.)
But since a network like Verizon's LTE network is as close to "4G" as exists in any major commercial deployment right now, and since DC-HSPA is perfectly capable of achieving typical user data rates in the same vicinity as an LTE network like Verizon's, it's not particularly misleading IMHO to call DC-HSPA "4G", since to most customers the primary distinction between what they see as "3G" versus "4G" is usable data rates.08-20-13 03:06 AMLike 0 - Actually until the large carriers politicized it and essentially strong-armed the ITU into changing the original definition, the term "4G" actually had a specific meaning. 10.2 seems to be a fantastic release...no doubt about it... but its way too early for my taste to make that sort of leap as everyone's experience is abit different, but I admit mostly good. If the second leak is this good, imagine what future iterations will bring as we get closer to the official release date(mouth watering). I'm not into debug tokens, and would like the apps to catchup.....hopefully the developers out there would have cracked open the 10.2 SDK, and begin rolling out their apps with 10.2 modifications soon.
If any previous 2354 users in here are willing to share their experiences with 10.1.4xx builds I wouldn't mind hearing if its worth upgrading.

we all agree that more native Apps are needed right !!??
All that said, I look forward to eventually adopting10.2 for my every day needs, that time is just not today.

There's plenty of material to read on this subject if you Bing/Google it.
STL100-3 / 10.1.0.482808-20-13 09:23 AMLike 0 - I am using the latest 10.2 which does not allow participant invites in the calendar if you are using a Google Apps account set up with Active Sync. This used to work in 10.1 but was lost in some of the later leak builds. If someone with .4828 is using Google Apps with active sync can you confirm if you can add participant invites when setting up a new calendar appointment.
Thanks. I would prefer to use Active Sync vs IMAP and CALDev.08-20-13 09:27 AMLike 0 - OmnitechDragon Slayer
All the information you wanted but were afraid to ask:
There is no such thing as "3G data" or "4G data". The data is the same, the terminology refers to how the wireless network transmits and receives that data.
The terms were originally meant to roughly describe which "generation" of cellular transmission technology they use. Roughly speaking, "1G" refers to the original generation of cellular transmission technology, based on analog technology. Example: "AMPS".
2G refers to the second generation. This is where digital technology was introduced. Examples include TDMA, CDMA, iDEN and GSM. Digital data transmission technologies - sometimes referred to as "2.5G" - appeared here and included GPRS (for GSM networks) and 1xRTT. (for CDMA networks)
3G refers to the third generation. These terms now apply primarily to data transmission schemes, not voice. Examples: EDGE and UMTS (for GSM networks), EVDO. (for CDMA networks)
4G refers to the 4th generation. Originally this was supposed to be limited to all-IP-based networks with a minimum raw client-device data rate of 100Mbps, but after political wrangling from carriers, it ended up being applied to any network with significantly faster client-device data rate capabilities than 3G or "3.5G" systems, ie from 7-100MBps. Examples: WiMax (dedicated), HSPA+/DC-HSPA (generally deployed on existing GSM networks) and LTE. (deployed along with either existing GSM or CDMA networks)
Based on the original 4G definition, WiMax and HSPA+/DC-HSPA are "3.5G" network technologies. LTE is closest to the original 4G definition, though 1st-generation LTE networks do not reach the 100Mbps minimum data rate specified in the original 4G definition.
