Swipe down from the top of your screen. A bar will appear that says "hide bar". Click that. Repeat to turn bar on. Use swipe up-and-to-left gesture for "back" in android apps.

edit: well apparently i'm an *****... i had installed the wrong andriod run time.. i had 2 folders in my downloads for andriod bar files and didn't realize I kept on installing the old one..... doh!!

My laptop at home I keep pretty spotless, but at work it's become a huge mess. but today is a friday, so i'm going to spend some time cleaning all that up! I was going to spend that time getting my inbox to 0, but a clean downloads and documents folder will be more rewarding haha

Waiting for a fully unlocked runtime that also includes the option for hiding the bottom bar is like me waiting for an OS that has the bokeh bootup screen, the squircle, and five days' battery life. It could happen, but...

Try installing 7-zip and using that instead. This is what I use.

If you have a .bar file now you don't need to extract. Otherwise maybe try 7zip?

you probably need the older version of instagram installed as well. There is a method of installing instagram where you install the old one, open it dont log in, install the new version, and log in and it works, but you have to keep the old one on your phone for the new one to work.

to get it back swipe again

Didn't even use debug token and it worked! used the DDPB app which side loaded the bar files, rebooted opened a android app it took couple seconds to install after that android app opens swipe and hide bottom bar

Did you open the app and pull down from the top first? If so, there is a settings box that says "hide bar"--tap on that and it will hide the bar. To put navigation bar back on, do the same motion and tap on prompt. Should work fine.

I sideoaded one version of skype-ver 3.2.0 I think) and put it in a folder as it wouldn't open. Then I sideloaded another version of skype and left it on the screen and not in the folder. Skype opened fine, logged in and all is working as it should. Nice to not have the bar on this one.
Instagram was the same. I loaded a version from the bar sites and put it in a folder (it said I needed to update). I then loaded a bar file a friend sent me, and bingo-all is fine again. Wow--on a Q10, the bar being gone on Instagram means all the world to running the app. You can now see everything. Too Cool for words! Thanks everyone!

UPDATE:
Google Earth does NOT work, even with the 7.x version. Tried two versions like I did with IG and Skype but no luck. So that is one app that does not open with this run time. Kind of a bummer. Also HP Print doesn't open but that is not a big deal. Working are all BBW apps and the following Android apps:

Extract--save to desktop--sideload using any approved method (DDPB/Sachesi/Chrome) and restart (Hard restart with volume buttons) and you should be good to go.
