Okay so I'm seeing a pretty clear pattern so far. A LOT of Nokia, quite a lot of Motorola, a suprising amount of Palm (and webos was so pretty for its time!) and the occasional windows phone. And for those one Samsung smartphones, most samsung smartphones ran their own version of Symbian. Any chance of putting this to a poll? I know it wouldn't be a priority, but it would be neat. Say up to 3 answers per respondent.

And to the guys who have the e71 and e6s, those are the phones who got me hooked on the PKB.

Come to think of it, my very very first cell phone was the car phone that came built in to my 1987 (?) Mazda 626. At $1.50 a minute I didn't use it to chit chat.

I still miss the simplicity of old Nokia, sometimes. The battery life is unbeatable, of course. I could use with a week of recharge between usages. Lol. One of the beauties of feature phones.

I started with an old Motorola bag phone and moved to a Motorola startac. Then it was a nice Nokia or two. Then various flip phones, the last one being a Quantico. First smartphone was an HTC desire. Had 2 of em. Both would get so hot they'd burn you almost. Had a Droid mini before switched to bb10. Back to android now with the best one I've had. My priv and I'd buy another one tomorrow

Same here. First a Motorola StarTac through AllTel and then eventually I moved up through some Nokia 's and eventually a Nextel Push2Talk through Sprint before landing on my first BlackBerry 8700e with Singular.

    My first phone was
*Nokia 3510 (Finland made, lost just within few months),
*Nokia 6610i again lost it in Train (Pick Pocketing),
*Motorola D520 brick phone, (temporary arrangement)
    *Motorola T190,
Then an *LG color phone (Year 2003/4 i think), Was not satisfied with LG so again gone back to
*Nokia 6610i (still resting somewhere in drawer), Then came first smart phone
*Nokia 3230 (served well until 2007) followed by
*N70 passed on to my son. next was
*N82 the best camera phone then,
*Nokia 6682/5800 for few days (when N82 failed) finally
    *Nokia C7
    *Nokia 701
*N9 the most beautiful and smartest smartphone till 2015. with N9,
*Nokia 808pv as standby phone (still in use) mainly for serious photography. In 2015 when WhatsApp become difficult to use on N9 then i moved on
*Z30 White (sold very cheap just last Saturday)
*Black Z30 used till last month and still used by my son.Always hated Android (& iOS) but finally moved on
*Redmi Note3 as there is no option left.Planing to buy
DTEK60 in near future, But not having FM radio is almost like a deal breaker.
*Xperia XZ is the latest (Poor battery, Infamous heat but beautifully crafted phone)
Still missing MeeGo and BB10 & Symbian off course .

Wow that's a lot of stolen phones. And a lot of nokias with fm transmitters. That's a feature that would be nice to have a comeback. And as for the FM radios being deleted, I agree.
But here's something that I noticed. My coworker who's a photography nut, I bought him a 808 pureview a few years back. But oddly enough my passport camera seems to get better photographs in most situations. Has anyone else tried doing some shots against other high end cameras? And thanks for all the replies to this thread. It's nice to know where people come from as far as technology.

I guess my avatar makes it obvious, but Palm. PDAs first (liked the OS, but don't miss graffiti at all), and then directly to the Pre3. Never really wanted the phone part. It's an anti-feature you have to put up with for full-time wireless on your little computer

Came to BlackBerry because it offered a specific combination: keyboard, removable battery, and removable storage (for music). Take any of those elements out of a device and I'm not interested.

Here's my phone history, covering about 15 or 20 years:

-Motorola 8700 ( more than one, i had one with a massive battery, weighing a ton )
-Some giant sony ericsson with non retractable but swappable antenna, and a clip on the back of the battery ( noone ever thought of fitting it into a pocket )
-Siemes M35 ( two of them, one with the orange backlighting and the other with the green one )
-Siemens S45 ( with some quite addictive games )
-Siemens CX65 ( and i loved it. Camera, nice and big color screen, ultrathin even today )

From here, since today, i always carried two phones
    -Motorola Mpx220 ( windows mobile 2003 i think? )
-Sony P800 ( of course i broke the keypad)
-Sony P900 (on this one too, but even sooner)
-BenQ Siemens EF81 ( magnesium alloy body. Terrific )
    -HTC Tytn ( swapped for..)
    -Toshiba G900 ( 3.5" WVGA, figerprint scanner. Future. )
-Blackberry 9000 ( my absolute favourite. I love it. )
-Toshiba TG01 ( giant screen, super thin, not so bad after all. But i missed the HTC HD2 buying this one )
-HTC HD7 ( before instagram and whatsapp i quite liked windows phone 7 )
-Blackberry 9700 ( motherboard on 9000 died, so i picked the 9700, but i should have had another bold)
-Blackberry 9800 ( hated it. Broken)
    -Samsung Galaxy Note
-Blackberry 9810 (hated it but still alive in a drawer )
    -Samsung S3
    -Blackberry 9900
    -Samsung S4
    -Blackberry Passport
    -Samsung S7.

And now I'm thinking about the keyone. After the two Torch i don't like the sliding keyboard, that's the why i passed on the priv. If I have to be honest I don't particularly like android on a bb, but there's not much choice.
