I know many people here came all the way up through blackberry, but I also know quite a few people like myself came from other OS. So in my first new thread, what did people use before BB phones?
Mainly I used Symbian, s60v3, Anna and Belle. I've dabbled in windows phone 8, android and very quickly cyanogenmod, but for the last few years have stuck with the q10 and since September the Passport. So I consider myself a Symbiote that became a bb10 user.
But curiosity got to me, I've seen android, symbian, ios, windows phone 7,8,8.1 and even 10 mentioned. Even sailfish got compared to bb10.4. So in order to know where we're headed, I'm curious where we came from

What didn't I use! I had almost all nokia phones, a few motorolas, some Sony, an Ericsson and I also dabbled in cyanogenmod. I used iOS extensively but now float between my Classic and Moto G4 Plus 4gb ram, 64gb device running marshmallow. Had two DTEK50's but the battery was the worst I've ever used on a phone. May end up getting a Mercury.

I used to use a sony xperia z ultra. My Z30 was actually a culture shock to me because Z30's screen was so tiny. But i fell in love with the phone.

My first mobile phone (the make I cannot remember) was basically a brick with an ariel 1 foot in length.

After that, up until 2008, it was pretty much all Nokia for me. With the exception of a Panasonic flip phone, it had a colour screen (wow).

After 2008, it was BlackBerry all the way until now as I am soon about to move on.

My first phone was a Motorola brand (I don't remember the model) but it was used just for basic calls, text and games. Then I had a few Sony Ericssons which I thought had some better features but later on I fell for the Nokias. However, I became very disappointed with my last Nokia E71 which, initially, I hoped should have been a much better phone. It had too many menus of half-finished apps. The unstable wireless feature was most disappointing.

Nevertheless, it was at that stage that I began looking at BlackBerry. My first BlackBerry was the Pearl 8100 and since then (Bold 9780, Z10, Classic and now DTEK50) I haven't found another brand that could convince me to switch. I must admit that the brand is not without its flaws but BlackBerry has, certainly, provided me with just the right core features that focuses on serious, efficient mobile communication. The lack of apps hasn't been too much of a problem for me, since my main requirements have been met mostly by the well-built stock apps.

    LG Viewty KU900, iPhone 3GS, Z10.

The Viewty had better camera features and the iPhone had better accessibility options.
