Is there any way I can have certain contacts break through the silent Bedside Mode with their calls so they can still reach me? For example, windows phone 8.1 has a similar Quiet Mode feature but there is an option where someone can still call through it as long as they call twice within a short period of time. Alternatively I can specify contacts that can always break through.

Any way to do this on BB10?

you can do but for whole contacts not specific(i guess) and if you want specific contact to ring then it can have but also in silent and other modes too.

Open the clock app and swipe down from the top to select clock settings. There you will find an option for "Bedside Mode Notification Settings". In there, enable the "notify during calls" option.

    Done.

OP is looking for specific contacts to be able to get through in bedside mode, not anyone who calls.

Thanks for the tips. I suppose All calls getting through is okay but a more preferential setting would be to have the ability to select specific contacts.

    Cheers

I think setting up "Level 1 Alerts" might be more what you're looking for (I've never done it though so I'm not the one to ask)

I'm not certain but can you not go into the contact and edit the notifications. You can set phone to on,off or profile setting. I've not tried this but if you set it to on should it not ring regardless of the profile setting?

In 10.3.1 I noticed a new sound profile for "Bedside." Perhaps try messing with that for a specific contact and then put your phone in bedside and then have them call you to see if it goes through, and then call from somewhere that you didn't set up. Your phone should automatically switch to the Bedside sound profile when you go into bedside mode.

A little convoluted, but it might work.

Would be a great feature to allow for a "bedside mode" flag in the contacts app, where you could mark it and if marked, only those contacts would ring through.

No because the network is disconnected in bedside mode.
See for yourself; when you exit bedside mode the device search for reconnection.

Network is only disconnected if you set bedside mode that way. My bedside mode is set to keep WiFi and the cellular network connected, but to silence all notifications except for calls. I do wish I could set it to allow only certain callers through, but I cannot. Thus, I allow all calls through.

Only I missed in bedside mode that it does not provide facility to auto turn on / off based on location and time.

True, but it's incredibly easy to put the phone into bedside mode.

Where do you make that settings?
On which OS-versions does it apply?

I think now it's possible to set a single contact to call in bedside mode.

So did anybody found solution to the OP problem? I don't think I've seen one yet.
I have the same problem. In bedside mode I only want to allow certain contacts to come thru and NOT all the calls.
If I set it up the way Usman suggest it will work as intended in bedside mode but it will also override any other profiles.
    Example from yesterday.
I have my wife contact set up to ring even in bedside mode while all other contacts are not allowed to ring at night. Unfortunately that will also apply to any other profile. I went to an important meeting with phone in "silent mode" and you know what happened. She rang and rang loudly as I was panicking to silence that damn phone in front of dozen of people.
Bedside mode still needs some work to be fully usable. Unless I'm missing something?
