So does anyone think that it would be a good idea for bbm to come to desktop?? That would really be a one up on what'sapp.
All you would need to do is sign in with your blackberry ID.
    Any thoughts??

Yes, I said as much on the latest general survey from BlackBerry.

I have a good feeling that they're working on it. It would be a killer move, no doubt.

    Yes, would be nice

    But I don't want 5 different pins...

Maybe 1 pin that is shared with the devices?

Otherwise which one should I give people? My desktop? Or my z10? Or maybe my Android when I use that one.

I'm not allowed to post my pin in my signature anymore...

I believe PINs are tied under your BlackBerry ID. So you can unify your PINs across devices. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes they should so they can boost their numbers so they can replace Whatsapp. This will also get them name reconigition and allow them to place ads for their new phones.

Definitely. I guess with the Android version you could technically have a desktop version through Bluestacks, but you need a fairly recent computer to run it smoothly. Channels needs to have desktop support to even have a hope of catching Twitter or Facebook.

I still use my laptop quite frequently.... My Z10 is just next to me, however and it's an 80/20 split..... 80% Z10 and 20% laptop.... no matter what I do...

I asked Alex Kinsella the same question during an open chat period through his BBM Channel. His response was that it would be possible only via the Channel Manager Console as it works today.

So, I'm guessing that it won't be available for a while, if at all. I'm a little disappointed by this since I wanted to recommend it to my company as a Skype replacement once BBM has video and voice. Oh well...

This would be the next step....

in most companies Lync is embedded and the main difference between BBM and Lync/ Skype is the feature of landline calls....

This option pretty much moot on phones and I doubt BBM will ever have this funtionality. Another reason why it is not there....

I have mentioned this several times to my BlackBerry rep. For my company it would be great as a way to do video calls from sales force Z10 in inside support staff. This could be used to help trouble shoot problems in the field, screen share to display a document from the inside support persons document library onto the z10,etc .

This would be great. My second im app, Viber, got one and its great to be able to see my chats when I'm on my desktop or laptop and don't have to take my mobile out of my pocket or reach for it.

Truth be told, it would be a great addition to an already large spec sheet for BBM...

That would be really nice. And the fact that it mirrors with the same account and not double the account is a plus because conversation stays in sync. I wonder if they would make it work with BBM for iOS and Android so everyone can be satisfied. And with BBM audio and video calls coming for all (theorically), we can almost wonder if Skype could fall from its podium.

It is allowed to dream. :P
