Back in the 10.2.1 days on my Q10 I could gain decent wifi strength from all around my house and my garden. However, when 10.3.1 update went live it completely killed the range. BlackBerry 10.3.2 did improve the situation slightly, yet we are not back to 10.2.1's standard.

I remember that quite a few of us were quite vocal on these forums upon the initial launch of BlackBerry 10.3 about the wifi issues. Yet, as always, there were many people on here burying their heads in the sand saying it was everything but the newly installed update. In fact, the update was the only thing that changed so it rules out the notion that it's my AP causing the issue.

I've not tried the development version of BlackBerry 10.3.3 so I cannot comment on there being further improvements.

This is a photo I've taken of my cheap android tablet and it's getting poor/medium signal in a part of my garden where I cannot get any signal whatsoever on both my Passport SE and Q10 (both running latest OFW). My cheap so-called 'craproid' tablet is running non-official Cynagen mod.

This isn't a BlackBerry hate post as I love BlackBerry 10 OS.

It's a sad situation when BB10 is in this state.

Now, in many cases this wouldn't be bothersome to most. However, when you're sat in the garden drinking a beer in the evening you discover that the struggle is real.

Weak signal also has a very negative effect on battery life.

Is there a way to let BlackBerry know of these bugs?

I have some other bugs like the BlackBerry Assistant not being able to speak American.

I argued exactly this point when 10.3 was released as it totally killed my wifi range, but most people on here basically called me out on it saying it was my router or settings.

To me it was obviously 10.3 as it was the only thing that had been changed. Then, like all these issues, it melted away to room 101 never to be cured or talked of again. We just had to live with it and still do.

If there had been more of a 'fuss' made online, BlackBerry may have had it resolved by now. It just goes to show that the app ecosystem isn't the only major flaw with the OS. In fact, the app situation doesn't bother/affect me. unlike this does...

This WiFi problem wouldn't be noticed by everyone. For instance; if you were living in a small flat you wouldn't be affected.

It is also more noticeable to those whom remember using BlackBerry 10.2.

One more very cumbersome thing post 10.3 is the lag in HUB when switching between different accounts (opening a WhatsApp chat right after a BBM chat) man the HUB on 10.2.1 was slick. It was the beat thing that I had ever operated on a phone. But on 10.3.1 it has become too frustrating. It's only helpful as long as you aren't using BBM. Unfortunately BlackBerry hasn't resolved it yet. And ofcourse won't now.

Sadly I didn't notice too much of an issue over the last few years, it wasn't until about last November, some of the leaks then started causing me some Wi-Fi Issue. First it was some routers I couldn't even connect without using WPS, then it was just not holding a connection for streaming - it would drop out every 10-15 mins and then reconnect.

I think we're perpetually stuck with it, unless we see any major improvements to Wi-Fi radios in the gold release of 10.3.3.

Same here and you can also add to the fact the entire cell radio as well has been botched! The phone is incapable of transitioning from wifi to cell radio fluidly. Phone has become quite the joke, no support, fixes, or updates. Dud--Broken!!

If you're talking about Wi-Fi Calling transitioning between wi-fi and cell, that's never worked on BB10. From what I've read by other posters, it was a feature that older BlackBerry hardware had, but that protocol was abandoned. Oddly enough, Google FI is starting that up again.

If you're on T-Mobile USA, then the app is called Wi-Fi Calling for selecting between Wi-Fi Preferred, Wi-Fi Only and Cell Preferred. The app is only available via BlackBerry World for Z10 and Q10, the two BB10 T-Mobile USA carried. For other BB10 devices, you would need to sideload the app.

OP I sympathize with your plight.
You say that the only thing that has changed is that you have upgraded your BB10 OS.
That is the only thing that you are aware of.

Get an app for your android tablet called "wifi Analyzer" and see if the you are using a clear channel.
If not change the AP so that you are using a clear channel.
If necessary you can add another AP with the same SSID on a discreet channel for your garden.
You are going to have to solve the problem yourself since it is very unlikely that BlackBerry will.
Drinking beer in an English garden is a wonderful thing and certainly worthy of an extra AP.

    Cheers!

And sure they know the bugs, just google it.
I've just found this thread in their official community support forum: https://supportforums.blackberry.com...5/td-p/3057313

Exactly the same scenario. In fact, I noticed a few threads on the same topic.

It's a shame that they are obviously well aware of the issue and haven't fixed it as of yet...
