Hello everyone I am a "fairly" good blackberry fan and bought the PlayBook last April 2012 due to student budget but was amazed by how much it could do. I was gladly overjoyed at the new bb10 following suit and strangledd money together to upgrade my cheap phone to a Z10 this past month... let's just say I LOVE IT.

Problem is, it seems im always being plagued by battery life issues. On average of constant use it lasts about 3-5 hours. The brightness is turned down almost completely and the screen color is also almost blue but that hasn't helped. I usually only have one app open at a time kik/snapchat/textplus at most 3 including the browser.

Any other hints or help? I'm running the leak 10.2.1.1055 I think that's it and only Kik is actually set to vibration so I limited that. Turned off the LED. My background isn't too bright either

I'm not trying to troll I seriously love this phone. Any help is appreciated

Look mate, in all honesty...the battery life isn't brilliant. Though, hit up 10.2.1.1259...my battery life seems to be slightly better. I wasn't having decent battery life on 10.2.1.1055.

I do believe that the device should have been released around $350-$400 which would mean that the device was appropriately priced for its performance.

Don't get me wrong, I love my Z10.

The IPS LCD kinda chews the battery life...though yours doesn't look TERRIBLE. Looks better than what my friend's iPhone 5 gets.

    Perhaps get yourself the battery bundle...or a Z30 (I really want a Z30).

Turning things off like bluetooth and nfc help if your not using them as well as changing your network radios to one such as hspa or whatever works for you in your area. I fount having the lte/hspa/gsm setting REALLY burned battery fast on my z10. I have a q10 now so im not sure if theyve inproved that but i still do it anyway.

Thanks I'll probably buy the battery pack on amazon when I can afford. I was just baffled by the people on here getting say the whole day on "hardcore" use. It seemed either an exaggeration or they are getting lucky.

The good thing is removable battery. Had an iDevice for 3 years, it got slow and the battery only lasted about 45mins of constant usage lol. It was an ipod btw but since I had a cheap LG slider phone, the ipod was used almost exclusively for everything but calling.

Anyways appreciate the feedback. Any noticeable change in the new leak? I might gamble and load it even if it means losing my apps

I don't know why but sometimes i get super good Battery life out of the Z10 and sometimes it seems empty 3 hours After charging.
Software Updates definitely played a huge role for the battery life of my z10.
I can get trough a whole day with a single battery charge, but I don't use sideloaded apps, 4G and I wouldn't consider myself a Hardcore User.
I do use it for reading pdf, texting, browsing and videos tho.

My suggestion would be to recalibrate the battery and try different email settings.
    (don't forget to restart)

Once you have the charger bundle, pick up additional batteries as needed.

I ordered some last week (batteries only) on Amazon.ca for $11 each.

The bridge remote app is hard on the Z10 battery. I notice that doing presentations

Yea the z10 battery life sucks. It's my one major complaint about the device. Especially coming from the 9930 which would last all day on a charge for me.

Another thing ive noticed recently on my q10 that i have now which btw gets about twice the battery life of the z10 is the new bbm channels and people that update theyre photos constantly. Your phone is constantly downloading status updates n photos. It may be small but on some days its noticeable i think

Are you in a good reception area for your carrier? Searching for signal can really drain the battery? I don't really know your apps and what power they draw?

since you have the leak, you can use the App Manager (in Settings) and it can show what apps are using what percentage of power.

Download 'task manager' from BlackBerry World, probably an android app draining your battery.

What battery time were u getting on 10.2 or 10.1? This might be happening cux of the leak os u r having, perhaps the os has battery problems with it which might fixed with the 10.2.1 official update, rite now i on my 10.2 getting a 12-14 hrs battery on normal usage. The main issue in os it drains battery even if the phone is idle and not in use.

10.2.1.1259 has been magical in the short time I've had it. That and my boot times halved to fully functional hub.

THE BEST thing I have for my Z10 is the big 4500mAh fat battery.
I have had it for 8 months now and I get 36 to 48 hours out of the Zed10.
    No battery stress at all.

I did recently find that I only got 24 hours out a full charge and traced it to the ebay app.

Ahh yes and this. I did a stress test on mine and got it drain in 36 hours but with a lot of playing games.

If you don't use data over the cellphone tower you can just use 3g instead of 4g. Make sure blue tooth is turned off and nfc when not being used. When you are not using wi-fi turn it off. All of these things will contribute to better battery life.

Let the battery die until the phone turns off then charge it back up and do a hard reset with the volume buttons - no battery pull.

So far that's the only thing that helped with my phone.

My z10 has pretty poor battery life as well. Live the device but hate that it doesn't last a full day on average use. Finally just bought a spare battery that comes with the charging kit. Do a quick hot swap.

I certainly hope that rim figures out how to make a device last a day without having to upgrade to alphabet sith a big 2800mah battery.
