Wouldn't trust that possible Nemory app or any other version of WhatsApp to work on BlackBerry 10 after June 30th.

I would strongly urge people to not donate or pay for that Nemory app only if and until it proves to be a reliable, working app as of July.

I don't see why the Android APK version wouldn't work after that date. It's should be fine.

I 100% agree. Even if it was an android wrapper that could POTENTIALLY work, it's not something that should be recommended. I feel like it will go the way of Snap10 and be shut down for being a third party app.

No one knows what will happen. That's just the fact of the situation. If you or anyone else put any money behind any app out of a hope it will work, you do so at your own peril of losing the money.

Now I'm not saying Nemory will be charging for that app, but look at his business model on BB10 - halfway apps for free, with upgrading to a Pro version for the full app. Hey, at least he's still a BB10 developer working on apps for BB10. But I would not pay for any 3rd party app for WhatsApp without actually seeing it work AFTER the June 30th deadline.

He will definitely be charging for the app. It's like you said, you get a somewhat usable app for free and have to pay for all the features that you would want to see.

This will not work for a long time anyway because whatsapp strongly blocks third party apps. I'm using the android version and this will work (except sending video) in future too.

No one can say that 100% certainty. If it does work, it will only work until WA doesn't support the runtime that BB10 is stuck on.

I'm hoping they extend the deadline, although Facebook probably couldn't care less. I guess they figure if WA is that important to people they will make the move to either Android or iOS.

Of course it will only work until Android 4.3 is not supported anymore. Since Android 4.3 is still in use on many devices, it will take some time until it's not supported anymore. How long exactly - nobody knows..

This might be a question of how 'people' use the app: you can even send any media if you know how. Upload it in a cloud and send a link... works great for me!

If you need something else get another solution.

Or just get a phone that works with WhatsApp lol

I can't believe a messenger service from Facebook nonetheless, causes this much commotion.

I actually had no idea how much better Telegram was. It's really good. I just joined the BlackBerry super group and learned a lot. No need to switch phones yet

I'll have to check it out. My family is all located in the US and pretty much uses, iMessage, Facebook, and text messages.

I honestly hate using a different app just to text. At one point on my iPhone and Priv, I had Kik, Viber, BBM, and WhatsApp. They all were used to talk to just a couple of contacts each. It felt like counter productive so I just got rid of them all and just stick to text messages and emails.

I still think BBM is still the best in my own opinion. Beside people still use BBM as their major chat app. Whatsapp is good but not everyone use it.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that more people use WhatsApp now than BBM.

Interesting considering the flack BBM caught on CB when they introduced stickers. But I guess now that Apple is going all in on stickers they're cool.

For how long? It's stuck on Android 4.3.. Sooner or later, you have to buy Android or IOS. Might as well buy something now, while you can practice a new OS... LOL

4.3 will be supported for some time, perhaps a couple of years, obviously that doesn't mean it will work on BlackBerry 10 for that long but there's no rush yet.
