Is there a way for the Passport to support audio peripherals (like speakers) via USB hosting? I've tried to connect one but I couldn't make it work. It works well with an android device though.

Yes, sure, I'm using a BlackBerry Passport running OS 10.3.3.1435, and I've successfully connected my Sony PHA-1 HeadPhone Amplifier (USB DAC) using and USB OTG cable. It works perfectly

BB10 devices (depending on the hardware) support some USB hosted devices, but support is considerably more limited compared to Android or iOS, and given that BB10 hasn't been in development since 2014, newer devices are unlikely to be supported if they needed any updates/changes/drivers to function.
