Apps should continue to work, and you should be able to update them from the same source. The only problem occurs if you ever want/need to delete them. You won't be able to.
Conite....thanks for your persistence in helping all BlackBerrians understand this issue. I hope BlackBerry issues a patch immediately, as it has been a known issue for almost a month. I was avoiding installation of the older ART, but alas, I hate to see remnants of deleted stuff on my phone.

I've just had an email from Michael Clewley -

"Thanks. Someone will be reaching out to you."

I've just been followed on Twitter by the BlackBerry Help motley crew, so hopefully it won't be by them!

Thanks alot! After installing the 2 bar files now everything works fine. Installing/uninstalling from play store, android settings, etc.

Also, for the people who have the Play store patched by Cobalt installed, you don't need the mobilenetwork.apk to check your apps. Just get into the Blackberry Google ID app that came with the play store, hit the three dots at the top right corner of the screen and select Android settings from there, then you can see the Apps section.

The apps don't uninstall. It just looks like they do. You can verify that with the following app:
    http://homepage.bluewin.ch/simonsmit...etwork-1.0.apk

Run the app and hit "More Android Settings". Then go to apps. In the first tab (Downloaded) you'll see all installed android apps. Try to remove it and verify again.
I tried installing this app using the Chrome BB installer extension and I got the following error...

    Install cobalt-mobilenetwork-1.0.apk: failure 500 'Package-Id'
    Info: Action: Install
    Info: File size: 1100534

You don't install Android apps by sideloading. They install directly on the device.

I'm sure everyone here is happy for you, in that you have nothing to worry about with respect to the Android Runtime bug.

Unfortunately, those of us who find that their productivity on the BlackBerry is enhanced, or even dependent upon, various Android apps, do have a problem with the Android Runtime in 2876. And that problem isn't limited solely to deleting apps.

Unless and until BlackBerry releases a fixed AR for 2876, I recommend the sideloading of the 2813 AR files.

Thanks Dude. A lot of people seem to be bypassing you, when you proposed rolling back first.

Connect your phone to a WiFi network. The download should then proceed.

Not sure what you mean by BT but if you are trying to connect to a BT hotspot in the UK,that will not work. BT hotspots appear to be free wi-fi but you need to sign in or pay for the service before it's actually working. It may appear that you are connected to the web,but you are not, so the download will not work. If that is not what you meant ,just ignore my message.

why are people updating to a release that doesn't fix anything, and only breaks things.....better question, why would blackberry push a release with known serious bugs to the world? why??

Updated and running for 2 days non stop.

No bugs, faster os, zero problems.

This why blackberry 10 is superior to any other mobile os on the market. Updates with zero trouble and you can trust your device will continue to work as fast as your work needs.

    Fantastic!

There is plenty of trouble here with the android runtime.

Uhm... glad you are happy with the update, but there are bugs, including a really major one introduced by this specific build.

I think with the workarounds posted here to the ART problems that it's a worthwhile update. I got mine OTA direct from Blackberry when nobody was aware of the problem but I wouldn't do a rollback in any case.
