I can confirm android apps not getting deleted. They look gone but are not. Have Ccleaner installed. It finds them but can't uninstall them.

I woke up this morning to the notification that I need to restart my phone, so far the general operating seems smoother and more responsive, will do the usual new OS restarts during the day and see how it goes.

It's worth to install this OS thru OTA. It's much improved and smooth than previously leaked version last month. My experience with leaked version was not good at all, had lot of issues like call delay, calendar time, etc and had to downgrade to 2813. This OTA version is free from all issues and worth to install.
    same experience here so far

Do all of you encounter this Android un-/re-install bug? It looks like it doesn't affect me.

Installing - un-installing - re-installing for me seems to work fine. Tested it with Snap: I installed BBM Meetings from the Playstore. Then opened the app, closed it, deleted it and reinstalled, launched, without any problems.

Could someone with this bug please share a way to reproduce the mentioned bug. E.g. how did you install the app and what app? I'd like to make sure if I'm really not affected by this, or if I just got lucky so far.

So I updated my beloved Q10 to this release via OTA and now also suffer the problem that installed Android apps can't be removed (regardless how they have been installed). This is really crappy work.

This is what the Anrdroid logs say, if an Android app is uninstalled using Android Settings -> Apps -> Uninstall

It looks like the error is caused by an internal security issue. PackageManager seems to invoke the keystore to clear the UID* and then fails with a NullPointer Exception.

    * When installing an app / package, Android by default creates a UID specifically for that package, so that it can have its private resources / storage space.

Maybe a security wipe would solve the problem... but this is not confirmed.

Maybe this Android issues is intentionally mad by BlackBerry due that is very weird that didn't fix it despite many times this issued is mentioned here on CrackBerry forums. If there are some BlackBerry employers on CB is incredible they didn't notice people complaining about not be able to delete android apps

So I read about the bug with the Amazon Shop. So far what I encountered is the following:

Amazon App Store: un- install crashes runtime and apps installed via Amazon App Store App can't be removed.

Google Play Store via Snap: un- / re-install worked fine. But since I first tried to remove Amazon App Store Apps, un-installing crashes the runtime. Nevertheless I CAN reinstall the tested App and it seems to be REMOVED even though the runtime crashes.

Also to mention: Snap, which usually shows also my apps installed from Amazon App Store don't show me installed and un-installed Amazon Apps. Amazon Appstore however does.

So might it be a problem that has something to do with the AMAZON APP Store, which occurs only with the current Android runtime?

No. As stated in post #111 its a problem in PackageManager of the Android runtime. It doesn't matter how the app was installed (Amazon, Play Store, Snap, direct APK install)

Some more information about the Android app delete bug. It looks like the Android developers encountered that bug in 2013 and reverted some changes in the code:
    https://android.googlesource.com/pla...87c419e93%5E!/

The log messages there look the same like the logs that I posted in post #111

Maybe the same issue now affects the BB Android runtime.

As I just said: At least on my device it seems to make a difference.

Did you already tried Snap? Cause it really works for me. (Apps I tested: Dolphin Zero, BBM Meetings, both un-installed (and crashed the runtime while doing so) and can be reinstalled)

And before trying the Amazon App Store uninstalling an app did not even crash the runtime.

I'm not denying that there is a bug in the runtime, don't get me wrong.

The apps don't uninstall. It just looks like they do. You can verify that with the following app:
    http://homepage.bluewin.ch/simonsmit...etwork-1.0.apk

Run the app and hit "More Android Settings". Then go to apps. In the first tab (Downloaded) you'll see all installed android apps. Try to remove it and verify again.

Sorry for (perhaps) stupid question, but I am quite sure that with earlier updates I had the option to choose whether I wanted to update via mobile network, or via WIFi. The current update just wants me to connect to WIFi. Is there any option in some other place, that I am missing?

Thanks for the hint. Indeed it shows the apps, I tested. But then it's even more strange, that I can install an app thats already installed by using snap.. Oo

Well, I have 2 android apps, and I am going to keep them, so I am not that afraid of the bug.
I got confused simply by the fact that I can't do it over the mobile network, and that's what I asked about.
