But not for the OS. Chances are those are old updates. BBW doesn't automatically notify you of updates anymore.

A couple of months-old, minor app updates really doesn't change anything. The fact that it took you so long to get them actually makes the situation appear worse.

It's dead. bro. My main phone currently is BB Aurora, but I'm still using the Z10 and Z30 only for mobile writing (due to its MUCH better virtual keyboard) and I put no SIM card at all. You can do not much else but for phone calls, sms, some local multimedia (video & music), youtube (on browser, until it crashes), light facebook via browser, and internet browsing. I use no android apps at all, as they would only make it worse on being laggy and battery taxing.

I don't get it with all the haters, bb10 is working just fine, had an iPhone and switched to the z30 a month ago and I don't miss anything. Battery is fine speed is amazing and all apps I use are there.

Actually was trying to show a video to a friend with an iPhone 7 and the z30 was faster in browser mode than his, he was quite surprised and started asking what kind of phone is this etc.

And don't tell me any of that os stories, yes there is lots of space for a third and forth os in the market, mighty Samsung has been fighting to make use of Tizen now for years, bb should have integrated with Samsung years ago.

    My opinion

    Developers and consumers would disagree.

Well developers are into profit so one platform wound work best for them, and I am sorry to say consumers are naive the worry more about what's niche and catches the headlines.

BB is still here and has a dedicated crowd for one reason, because it's a great platform.
Only thing I am afraid is when the big guys decide bb is a threat and buy it out to shut it down like they did with pebble.

The big guys didn't care when BB10 peaked at 10 million users, so they aren't worried about the remaining 1 to 2 million.

Exactly. It's a problem that's already solving itself. By this time next year, it will be below 100,000 users, and 2 years from now, it will be a couple dozen.

That's bs two years ago it was 4 million then. I left bb for Android and ios and guess what I'm back and I am not the only one.

By the way are you still using your bb10...? Why so much pessimism... I believe the 2 million will stay for a lot longer than you think.

I still use many BB10 devices.

Pessimism is irrelevant. Facts are facts.

I was proud to be a BlackBerry owner, however the shoddy treatment and utter disrespect displayed by the company has totally lost my support. I have loaded alternate home launcher and disabled all possible BlackBerry software on my Keyone- am treating it as just another Android clone..with a keyboard.
BB10 will I use until they kill it..but forget about having any respect or further support from my corner...I'd rather buy an Apple product (ugh)

You gotta be kidding me. Just in the last month Blend stopped working over Internet and now issues with BBM switching.

Sure it isn't dead, but they have chopped out almost all fingers, legs and hands are next.

So you're giving up one of the major features of the pkb - the 52 shortcuts - to prove a point?

How have you been disrespected? Has your BB10 device not worked as advertised when you bought it?

I guess I would. To placate my own indignation only. I understand there is a corporate business doing what it does to generate profit. I understand it does what it thinks is in its best interests. But it seems that while customers concerns don't necessarily drive corporate strategy, they do matter: unless your services and products are in high demand.
So let's discuss loyalty. A much desired customer attribute. How do you encourage that? With showing apparent concern and apparent attention to customers. Recent unannounced, directives appears to show blatant disregard. We're not expecting a new BB10 device, or third party app support. But multi-platform lockouts of a core app seems rude. I just like a nice keyboard to type on. So if anyone else can make one: I'd buy it. Seems like the software business is going corporate, so BlackBerry might as well disassociate themselves from their past, as they seem to be doing...

I would argue they're returning to where they came from. They were a corporate executive device that most people could only enjoy from a distance. Now, the ones that need certain features, will be those with a real need, paying for it, just like the old days.

But BlackBerry no longer has anything to ever sell you again, so why would they care about you beyond satisfying whatever contractual obligations they have?

TCL is an entirely different company that it trying to woo you now with its device products and services.

For most of the people if you don't have a Facebook app, Watsapp app, Uber app and Snapchat app that means there are no apps on the platform.
Every time I search on BBW I find some practical apps that are just some small apps but usefull.
I still enjoy BB10 on my great BlackBerry Passport SE.
For me a smartphone is a pocket computer. If I want to socialise I call people or text them to see if we can socialise face to face. But maybe that is because I am ******** from social-media point of view. I cannot have a long conversation if it's online.

Consumers are important, however my point was that when BlackBerry started out, they weren't consumer focused and now since they've left the hardware business, they won't be consumer focused anymore.
