What is the deal? Is BB10 dead or not? Are they still going to try to make it better? I don't understand...I want to buy a Passport but have been holding off thinking that it wouldn't make sense to buy into a ecosystem that was dying
Even museums spruce up their displays every once in a while.

Don't listen to all the trolls. BlackBerry 10 is NOT DEAD. Look at John Chen's own recent comments as evidence. Lots of idiots on here so font be a sheep. I love my Passport!

Even if it is dead, i.e. there's no development anymore - I don't care.

The native Facebook is gone -> can be replaced with Face Slim or Facebook Lite, so it's not a real loss. It wasn't good anyway.
Native WhatsApp will be gone at the end of the year -> the Android version runs

As long as the most used communication services can still be accessed, BB10 is fine for me. It will probably be a long time before it really breaks. Heck, I had a Windows Mobile 6.5 phone for years (Omnia Pro 4) - can still do a lot of stuff, there's just no WhatsApp available for it. :P

2 rules to being a BlackBerry fan:

Never trust BlackBerry's commitments. And always add 6 months every release date/estimate.
Pretty much true for every platform.

Nope, not my experience at all.

Apple, Samsung & Microsoft deliver on their commitments... BlackBerry, not so much.

BB's "soon" has become sad parody... or farce, if you'd prefer.

I'm still waiting for 10.3.3 to be released within Q1 (April is fast approaching!) and for the announcement of the announcement when the date of Marshmallow release for the Priv will be announced... which Louks last year announced would be announced (if you're still with me), in Q1.

How's the commitment from Microsoft on updating all WP8 and WP8.1 devices to WP10 going?

Oh... Wait... I just remembered that hey just recently announced that some of those devices won't be getting updated at all. And let's no forget the big F U they gave people when they didn't update a bunch of WP7 devices to WP8.

Stop being silly, every company makes commitments that they end up breaking. That's life, deal with it.

This isn't even a conversation about BlackBerry 10.3.3 anymore.

As a CrackBerry post stated from earlier this year. There was new certifications that passed the strictest government certificates. That's all that I have heard about 10.3.3. It will come, BlackBerry takes it dear time whenever something is coming out or is needed.

I also consider how many devices BlackBerry will have to update, assuming BB10 devices will get the update at the same time or take the carrier strategy and hope consumers will get it.

I believe BlackBerry is more focusing on enterprise support with government appeal with its security., because I wouldn't think that the majority of consumers wouldn't really pay attention to such a little thing.
