My friend is celebrating these features as revolutionary - Lift to wake, story maker in his IOS 10.
Though Android already had these feature. BB10 is consistent with its usage. Sad bb10 is still not recognised for its true potential.
And people still awestruck when I say these features I already use

If they had marketed BB10 like they do the Priv. BB10 Would be the "King of All OS's" and that's just my personal opinion and a few others.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: BlackBerry could've had a huge comeback with the Passport. Apple's success began with a good product, but their overwhelming popularity is almost entirely the result of marketing. The sheeple like to feel special while belonging, and apple products provide that.

A lot of self-destructive idiots over in BlackBerry's camp.

I don't think lift to wake and Apple's story maker were anything people really cared about. iOS10 does look really nice though, a lot of cool features.

All makers "borrow" ideas from one another. Don't act like bb10 didn't also take ideas from ios and android.

Ahhh I live in southern part of India almost near the end.. and people in here don't really know that there is brand named BlackBerry and some say it's just android (not talking about priv) they said even before the launch of priv and some say it's just a local China model.. that's the main problem here so me being an BlackBerry user find it really a shame... because even people with iPhone 4 looks cool to others...

Story Maker is one of those apps i would delete if I could. Never used it on my Q5, certainly not going to use it on iOS.

There's a feature BlackBerry should steal from Apple - let us delete the built-in apps we don't want!

I have made some movies from BlackBerry Story Maker before. My friends using Android were surprised that I used a phone for editing, let alone a BlackBerry!

It's got a good set of features.

The crux here is, keep polishing OS, even basic functionalities and people eventually will like it.

Timeout features is there in BBM too, but the new hidden link feature of IOS looks cool ( emoji animation is cool too).

I wish BlackBerry keep polishing BB10. No extra features..just look and feel

I thought the same thing today. Also, how about the extra-large emojis? Sounds like BBM's stickers.

That said, Story Maker is one of my least favorite BB10 "features."

Nope. Companies need to advertise. People are sheep. This just illustrates how important advertising is to a truly innovative company like BlackBerry.

The problem is not just advertising, developers aren't developing app for the BlackBerry 10 OS. It kind of put people off if they can't get the app they want on a device.
For me ios shouldn't even stand a chance for the inability to freely transfer files from a non-ios device to a ios device without using programs like itunes. But..........

    No. The problem is advertising.

You see, here we have a conundrum.

The thing is developers are more keen to get money from their apps, so they will be more keen to make apps for a platform that is seen to be making money (mass sales in devices, as this gives them a greater chance of making back money also). Greater chance of being seen / bought by consumers.

So, if a device is not marketed and in turn does not sell enough / not seen to be making money, then the chances of the said developer making money is slim as the device itself is not selling. Less chance of being seen / bought by consumers.

Apple as done a GREAT job of making their devices seen as a MUST have item. They have created a state where people just feel they HAVE to have it. How can a device that has not changed in design or brought out innovation managed to sell in the vass amount that it has! Apple has my respect for their very aggressive and impressive marketing.

NOW, turn that strategy to BlackBerry and let Apple be in the same stance as BlackBerry is now (no advertising) and see how the tables would have turned!

As said before, people are sheep. Apple as realised that and have used it to their advantage. They have given the sheep stuff they don't even want or need.. but, they follow and get!!
