Just my thought which I can't believe i'm saying. Since I'm a huge BB fan and to be honest i haven't even felt like this when BB was about to get scrapped for parts. Looking at the iOS8 and Android L improvements is making it worse.
The stock (by the time you read this is is probably already at it's high) is at an almost at a 52week high high but that's because of services most likely like BES12.
BlackBerry tried full force getting their handsets into enterprise and kind of failed.Handsets will end up getting phased out and Services being: BES, QNX and BBM will be the only things left standing.
BYOD took the enterprise market by storm. People are so happy to throw away their BlackBerries and move on to something else. Apple (i hate apple btw) is now the smartest device to use for enterprise.
why?
-Ecosystem (handover cross platform notification on iOS only for now)
- microsoft office
- social apps (surprisingly enough it's gettign bigger and bigger in the enterprise world even pointless social media like tumblr)
- integration (BB10 has this but no one not even BlackBerry themselves is willing to chip in [i'll say more on this below])
- apps is everything look at the amount of enterprise apps on every other platform compared to BB10
- BlackBerry's inhouse apps are all incomplete. example Docs2go doesn't even have as many features as the android/iphone version even though BlackBerry bought out Datawiz. Express doesn't even support powerpoint which is the most widely used format for slideshows.
All BlackBerry 10 has on any other phone is the HUB but it's not long before other OS's or apps (like Accompli [which innovated the crap out of the hub but is only for email])
Security is big but is only needed for governments, medical, police and fortune 500 companies. At least for now.
sadly enough make a search on google for the most used device in enterprise and it's iOS.
I do think Chen is awesome for the company to make it profitable but he is making it much worse for the handset side of things. Sure he is making hardware but you need the full out OS to back it up. I see no progress. Every single inhouse BB10 apps should be thrown into Beta Zone and get 10 full time devs to work on 1 app at a time.
Google started a new thing called update Wednesday when they update 3-8 of their apps every week. I'm just saying 1 update per week for BlackBerry until this in house app situation is better.
What do you guys think?
