Not that I would want to do that, but I found a mysterious Geekbench benchmark result. It shows a Blackberry Z30 running Android 4.3 instead of Blackberry 10. This could be a) just an error b) an internal Blackberry device with unlocked bootloader c) somebody hacked BB10 successfully (remeber Dingleberry for Playbook)

Thats very interesting. Very early results as that is a very poor Geekbench score. Wonder if they could actually build a dual boot BB device.

Its possible to use android browser within the runtime.

Very unlikely that bb10 was rooted unless blackberry themselves loaded android on the device , which again is very unlikely since they are all bb10 and aren't spending RnD on that

Lol.... no that's just a geekbench result from the android app. The OS will display as 4.3 because that's the version of the runtime within 10.3+

That is more or less the same result as any other Z30. There are even worse results from BBs running BB10.

Would that make Geekbench submit wrong infos about the actual OS running?

Thanks for the info. I will try it and post the results.

EDIT: Android Geekbench from Google Play doesn't work on my Q10 running 10.3 and keeps crashing so i can't test this.

There's a native app on BBW to run geekbench.

I know, but using the native app won't show the "hacked device result". As stated above, the android apk doesn't work on my Q10 so I can't check whether your assumtion is correct.

My Z10 result. Z30 seems kinda low since it's way faster.

Simply search for "Blackberry Z30". The results of the "Hacked device" aren't lower than "normal" Blackberry Z30s

Same here on my Z10STL100-4/10.3.1.1154 - tried Amazon as well, no dice. BlackBerry World version works as expected but shows proper BB10 OS.

First of all its not hacked it's just confusing the app. Secondly I find the results low on both vs the Z10. I thought they'd be much higher.

First of all, this is just an assumption, not a fact. It can be right, but nobody can prove it right now. Perhaps this will change, but at the moment nobody knows for sure. That's why I wrote "hacked", not hacked in the quoted posting and put a question mark at the end of the thread title.

Secondly, you didn't express yourself clearly.

We need Geekbench 3.2.5 apk. That's the version the guy with the "hacked device" used. I already searched for it but couldn't find it anywhere...

EDIT: Amazons version is 3.2.5. This makes the usage of an android apk on a regular BB10 device that is confusing the results less likely.

Maybe it's some not yet released 10.3 version that is capable of running geekbench, why would he run 4.3 if he managed to flash android on it

I'm running 10.3 but only that apk that the OP mentioned will work.

I never said it would work. I just proposed to try the one the "hacker" used to prove your assumption that nobody hacked a Z30. Soon after that I found out that this is exactly the version amazon is still offering in its app store (which you say keeps crashing, too). So that thesis is probably not the solution of the mystery.
