Every Android powered phone manufacturer will have a super phone with nasty specs by mid 2012. Sony Ericcson has made some really nice devices lately, I have an xperia and it is a great device.
RIM just need to release a phone with excellent hardware and software by the end of 2012. I don't expect a young os (see wp7) to have all of the features/app content on release. Looking at the playbook, I think they can release a good BB10 running device next year.
However like the op posted, the BB10 devices need top of the line specs. For example, If all android manufacturers and the iphone release devices with hd screens in 2012, RIM needs to as well.
Neither the BB10 nor the playbook will be able to compete with this thing by Q2, 2012. And every Android company is going to have a similar product out before rim figures out bb10.
Yes, BBBrooklynFAN, you're right... But is a 720 x 1280 resolution a nust have for a phone? We should look at function, not only specs (I know, I know, I'm a dinosaur...).

function SHOULD be better then specs any day of the week but the average smart phone user does not see that, they see specs plain and simple....like honestly who needs a 1.5ghz duel core processor in a phone (Specifications - LG Optimus 4G LTE from Bell Mobility)
