It's a single speaker setup, not dual like the design of the phone would lead you to believe...the second "speaker grille" is just for looks / symmetry

I believe the Z30 and Passport are the only BB10 devices with stereo speakers, all other devices (including the Classic) are mono.

I think the second speaker grille hides the microphone. I do miss the dual speakers on the PP.
