Like many of you, I am hoping that blackberry is on the ball and fixing all that is wrong with BB 10. I've heard people say and even Kevin that BlackBerry is monitoring websites such as these, gathering all the issues and are going to drop an update called BB10.1. I was wondering when we might expect this? I know the Playbook updating schedule was terrible but given that this is BlackBerry's so called "last" shot that they will be working really hard in pushing out updates. Has anyone heard anything? Know anything? Opinions?

I heard that the Q10 will launch with BB10.1. Hope this isn't a rumour.

Several features demoed as "built in" on the BlackBerry Q10 require BlackBerry 10.1. A number of features in BES 10.x require BlackBerry 10.1. It's coming. Give it some time. BlackBerry 10.0 was just released two weeks ago.

One is that enhanced universal search that Vivek was demonstrating on the Q10, where you type in "email David" and it opens up an email to David for you to compose, and many other of those types of functions...and it was specifically noted that this function would be coming to the Z10 as well...

Better Maps is already being worked on based on a statement from Telecommunications Systems, the company that BlackBerry contracted for the Maps application.

I think BlackBerry did a great job at making sure all the essentials and more were in place for BB10.

I don't think I've ever been more happy with an OS while at the same time so excited for future updates.

There a million improvements I could suggest and yet I'm extremely happy with it.

I have an older OS and not getting a prompt for the newer one... is there a way I can update to this like in the older blackberries regardless of carrier?

Yes this update is being created when its ready it will drop.Rumors say it will drop MWC but i reckon it will drop 2 weeks before US release.Their will be alot of updates before that time including app additions.

I would guess that they didnt want to overwhelm users with the new exp and have endless b1tching about features and where's what settings questions.Just look at whats going on now.So maybe they just released the basics to get users familiar with the OS.Additionally by relasing the OS as it is now they can easily monitor and check the bugs much easier than a full featured complete OS.

It was said straight after launch they would be working on 10.1 straight away.They indeed intend to improve the OS.I think its worked out for the best for users we have not been totally overwhelmed with the new xp.The Os is very good for a launch.

10.1 on its way no need to rush a get shoddy updates.

Y just had this happen today

I bought my Z10 on Tuesday from TELUS. The rep did this update for me before I left the store. It must have been an update from between the manufacturing, which could have been weeks ago and now.
