Never take the battery out under water. It bricked my phone.

That genuinely made me laugh out loud. (LOL)

    References, links?

I cannot reference my support calls, and you are free to search twitter, or this forum for other threads in the same topic that have the links.

As far as the help telling you how to reboot.... it does NOT say "DO NOT PULL THE BATTERY, THE PHONE MAY BE DAMAGED". If this was an issue it would surely be there. This practice (/issue) is solely the opinion of a few users, and has never come from BlackBerry.

If you read the Help app on the Z10 it does not recommend battery pulls and in fact shows the two recommended ways to restart or reset a BlackBerry 10 device

There is also no warning about a battery pull being an issue.

How do I do a Battery pull on my Z30 or Q5 then? Maybe they stopped with removable battery because you shouldn't have to and it's unnecessary.

That is not why those phones don't have accessible batteries, but nice thought.

I'm pretty much done in this thread, pull your battery, don't pull your battery.. that is the individual's choice. There has been no official word from BlackBerry either way, I do know however that they recommend a battery pull in support calls,i have experienced it first hand.

I also know that I pull my battery daily on my Z10 when I need to swap batteries and have seen no adverse effects. I personally need no more proof than that.

Have an issue and phone support, they will recommend a battery pull.

Michael Clewley has also recommended such on his Twitter feed many times...

I do it every time I swap my zed battery, never had an issue...

I didn't mean they were trying to stop battery pulls more the fact that they have come up with better ways of restarting and resetting the device. People are just stuck in their ways.

ALT+SHIFT+DEL is a PITA. I routinely do a battery pull on my Torch 9800 (OS6) to clear out the rogue "menu" app (only visible in Switch Applications). Fast 'n' easy......even while driving.

I'm looking forward to -NOT- having to do that on a Z10.

I'll also confirm that pulling the battery is part of the Blackberry support troubleshooting process as they had me do a few times when it 1st launched and before they released the 10.1 update.

Funny you should say that... I too do a battery pull as opposed to the other methods. guess, I'm just more comfortable with knowing that I physically diid something.

Guess that also explains my love for a physical keyboard (my Q10).
