    Hi,

Is there a way to change android apps' permissions? For example for those downloaded from Amazon ?

    Thanks.

    No, there isn't.

Android does not support changing permissions of apps. It's not likely BlackBerry will change the code enough for that to come baked into the runtime.

And that is one if the things I hope they implement .
As I remember from PlayBook we could tamper with the Android permissions but the app would not open if you disallowed one of them. Maybe that is the reason they are locked in bb10.
Android is a piece of junk and unfortunately we will have to live with it due to its popularity.
If only BlackBerry could push cascades development....

Most applications are written assuming the specifications of the operating system hold true. In Android this means most developers don't check to see if they actually get the permission they ask for because the OS treats it as all or nothing.

Since BlackBerry bakes security in from the ground up developers learn quickly not to be complacent.

Unfortunately allowing users to pick and choose permissions on Android applications would cause many to fail and result in lots of support calls.

It wasn't ready for primetime, too confusing.. A better implementation will be available in Android L when it debuts Unified Data Controls but since its a different runtime who knows when it will make to to BB10.
