For example, CTV News, TD Canada Trust, etc. They are great apps however I didn't realize how behind I was until I used my brothers android phone to deposit a check by taking a photo of the check and sending it to TD all thru the TD Canada. Can't do that on the TD app for BB10.
Also, for iPhone users they get the CTV Go app while we are still left with the regular CTV News app. I know that big names like twitter and Facebook will always be updating but it would be good to continue receiving updates from these other useful apps.
And yes I know there is always the side load options or android apps but I want to stay as native as possible - native apps are so much more enjoyable to look at and use

The Economist...I actually cancelled my digital subscription with them last month, as they told me they currently had no plans to create a native BB app. And I politely told them I current had no plans to renew my subscription until they changed their act. And that was that.

Tbh less than 1% of market share surely isn't getting much attention from app developers, big name ones or not
Plus, just like OP has mentioned, the android runtime has also given them an excuse to procrastinate IMO

Not always an option. Newer GasBuddy app for Android requires Google Play Services, for example.

The GasBuddy in BlackBerry World works just fine, and it's native. Why piddle with the Android version?

Because in Android version I have a page with my favorite gas stations. Don't see such thing in BB10 version.

It's not the Apps going extinct, its bb10 itself that is going extinct I'm afraid

is it such a bad thing to have top-notch hardware, operating system, communication and battery life from the BlackBerry world and the specific extra apps you want from the android world? works well for me.

if you want a toy with all the latest bells and whistles, this aint it.

Only one BlackBerry device has up-to-date hardware, OS is OK at best, Android ecosystem compatibility is limited. Doesn't work for most users. Native BB10 apps are essential. Average users can't rely on hacks and workarounds.
