Is there a way to setup notifications based on the body of SMS messages?

Basically, I work for a hospital and I get trauma calls through my cell in the form of SMS messages but the actual # of the sender keeps changing. The end result is even if my phone is on silent, I want those particular messages to go through and basically explode with ringers and vibrations so I dont miss any of them.

Anyway to set this up? or ideas?

In the meantime, I keep trying to add the #'s to a single contact but so far I've got 4 sms messages and all 4 have been from different #'s so I'm not even sure I'll ever have them all saved.

never heard of the native OS being able to do this. Maybe a third party app? Hope someone can help you

Assuming there is some code that would be mostly unique to the situation, and an application can get SMS messages as they come in this could be done. I haven't looked at monitoring SMS.

The ideal way would be to make the application headless, which is quite a bit easier in 10.3, and HUB integrated, which still needs BlackBerry approval. If I have time I'll take a look. Maybe one of the other developers will take this on as a project.

Thanks. I'm glad I'm not the only one pondering this. It's kinda like a hashtag system or for the older crowd, @mentions in IRC chat days. You set the filter and it keeps a scanning log.

I would imagine there is a way to scan sms since there's a way to search SMS but I have zero programming knowledge so I'm just spouting hypotheticals at this moment.

BeBuzz allows you to set custom rules for incoming messages, not sure if it will work in your case but might be worth a try
