...did you have to remove your sim card and re-boot or any other clever method to get the update?01-20-17 09:02 AMLike 0 - Sorry guys, if I caused an early stimulus! I thought that the European update would be simultaneous. I am from Austria, not UK. And I'd gotten the update at that day I sent the post.
Cheers & apologies for the misleading info!

Battery life maybe doesn't seem to be quite as good as before, but I'l give it time to settle in over the next couple of weeks.
Also, after reinserting the Virgin Media/EE monthly sim card, calls and texts seem to be working fine.
I suspect that in the UK the update has been released first to the Carriers with the most business and Govt/defence users, and further graded in priority by the relevant BB10 phone models being used by those customers.
Hence, my Z30 came from Amazon, factoryunlocked, and I'm unsure if a Vodafone user here with a Passport phone bought direct from Vodafone and locked to them, or bought direct from Shop BlackBerry and put on Vodafone's network has been prioritised for update ahead of a phone like mine.
As for BB10 phones on EE's network in the UK, I've no idea when - or if - EE are releasing this update!
- Food for thought, as we say here.01-23-17 03:58 AMLike 0 -
- Still waiting. Just had a chat on the UK EE forum, bloke said that despite the fact I have been with EE for years, as I got my Z10 from car phone warehouse, not EE, the update would not be coming from EE. Seems there are quite a few disappointed EE blackberry users out there. Time to switch carrier.02-12-17 01:35 PMLike 0

I don't think anybody there knows any better than we do, they are not EE employees.
Also EE is quite happy to offer you SIMs to bring your own phone. More to the point nobody has remarked that a kosher EE-sold BlackBerry has updated either. I conclude that EE just hasn't released the upgrade to anybody in any capacity yet.
I would suggest ringing EE's own tech support and seeing what they say.BigAl_BB9900 likes this.02-12-17 04:06 PMLike 1 - EE can't even provide BlackBerry services (BlackBerry logo next to signal) to me let alone any updates!!!!!

So I downloaded it and installed OK, then rebooted, then switched off and removed Vodafone card and reinserted Virgin Media/EE card and rebooted.
Result? - Everything works absolutely fine, including camera, calls, texts, Android apps etc. And since then, battery life has settled down OK, and the entire Z30 and BB10 experience seems even smoother and slicker than before!
And access to Amazon App Store is fine, plus I have installed apps from there OK since the Update.
Just to clarify, this Vodafone-accessed update is reported by my Z30 as follows:-
Software Release 10.3.3.1435
OS Version 10.3.3.2163
Someone needs to have it out with BlackBerry as to exactly why this update is so staggered and haphazard, and exactly how it was meant to be rolled out.
As it appears from various posts on this thread and another one ref BB10 update in the rest of Europe that both BlackBerry and the Carriers et al seem to be saying.. "Not my fault, mate!". Etc.
It's a disgusting and shameful situation, and corporately no one seems to care!BigAl_BB9900 likes this.02-13-17 06:30 AMLike 1 - .....

Get yaself a android device (with a blackberry case) and you will get all the updates you desire. Heck, you will even be placed on their beta programme !!

Classic Unlocked on O2
Posted via CB10 on my Classic02-16-17 09:08 PMLike 0 - Mine is Z10 bought contract free on O2... I'm still deciding! Given that I've got 2 versions of the BB10 browser (10.3.2 and the earlier 10.3.1 for Flash which I retrospectively installed) would it be possible to load the new improved browser on 10.3.2?

It was late in January, I can't remember the exact day now. Don't suppose there's a way to see installation logs on a BB10 device?
Unless the carrier has to approve updates for each device, in which case Giffgaff approved the Q10 but not the Leap (maybe they don't have any other customers using a BlackBerry Leap lol)02-20-17 05:04 AMLike 0
