I did on my Z10. Sometimes it would freeze up when the screen is off and pressing the lockscreen button wouldn't wake it up. Other times I'd unlock the screen and I couldn't insert my password, the insert password bar would never show up.

Thought QNX was meant to be real time without being able to freeze and lock up

You know, battery pulls have been effective on my Androids and laptop, as well. But folks on the Z30 won't have this option. They aren't nearly as necessary as they were on the legacy units, though.

Last battery pull I did was when my phone dropped and the battery fell out, I've never purposely done one yet and I've had my Q10 since launch

I have had a freeze once on my Q10 where my 9900 would've require a battery pull. I held the power button and the volume up for about 30 seconds and it restarted. Never had a problem again. My battery hasn't been removed since it was installed fresh out of the box.

Never had these problems with the Z10, even if you need to reset the devise is not necessary to pull out the battery, just hold both volume buttons same as you take a screen shot and hold until the phone is restarted.

A fix for your problem so you don't have to do a battery pull. Press the voice control button down until it takes you to the voice control menu. Cancel it, and your screen should be useable again. I had this bug myself for a while

Did that once in hopes of solving an app issue, which it did not.
Not every since. Alas, even the regular booting times are longer with BB10 than after a battery pull on my BB Torch.

Nope ,prob had to hard reset or battery pull twice a week with my 9800

It did reboot itself once though in the past 3 weeks since I got it , but that is much less than previous BBs , are there battery pull Apps for the BB10s?

There should be no need to physically pull the battery in BB10. Look at the Z30 where you can't access the battery plus the Playbook back as the first version of QNX running in this format.

The only battery pulls I do is to swap out batteries to put in a fully charged one. I do a full shut down first, pull the battery and put a new one in. I have never had to pull the battery due to an OS problem, or freezing etc.... My Z10 has been problem free since I bought it in Feb 2013.

battery pull was my regular thing on my 9810, since I have my q10, I only did 1 battery pull, and that was because someone say (Battery get better after a battery pull) so I decided to do it anyway, not because my device needed it.

what OS are you running ?

I have a Q10 on 10.2.0.1443 and I pull several times a week. My phone usually locks up when I'm on a call and then start to play a game. To hang up I'll have to pull the battery.

I always shut it off before, it's better if it shuts down by itself instead of just pulling the plug. That's good for all electronic devices.

No battery pulls at all on my Z10. (I found out early on that they were not recommended.) Hard reboots? Perhaps 4 or 5 only for problems.

I see myself doing atleast 2 to 3battery pulls a day.... mostly cause an active frame gets freeze. android apps don't want to load. but mostly cause of the antenna. since I don't have reception where I work and im on wifi and im off reception for a long period of time.. when I go outside I don't get no signal it just stays on the red X so I have to reboot. lately I been turning off the mobile data, just leave wifi on that has helped..
