I installed a 10.3 leak recently and didn't like it at all. Mostly because it was really slow at loading apps and generally felt laggy but I also thought that the icons were too small for my screen and that 10.2.1 was designed with the Q10 in mind and is more appropriate for the device. I think that while I am using the Q10 I will not update to 10.3. I will save that experience for when I upgrade my device. Anybody else been thinking the same thing?
I'm thinking about leaving my Z10 on 10.2.2.1609. I've tried all popular leaks and they all have noticeable UI lag. New features are not that important to me. On 10.2.x I'm getting perfectly smooth UI, good enough battery life, best signal reception and better virtual keyboard performance. Also, I don't like the new flat minimalistic candy colored UI. The new OS may have more options, but it makes the phone feel cheap.10.2.x UI is unique with more attention to details.
While I'm not a big fan of the changed UI, it's not that big of a deal for me. Some of the changed functionality of the Calendar bothers me more, but I can just hope BlackBerry reverses course on some of that.
Otherwise, custom profiles and the ability to have different notification volume levels are a much appreciated addition in 10.3.1, and one I won't give up on now that I have it.
Lag? What lag? I don't have it on my Z10 running 10.3.1.1154.
Remember you're using a leak so there's bound to be some problems.
I for one am definitely updating when it becomes available, haven't used 10.3 or 10.3.1 yet so looking forward to it, I agree about the icons though, they're not very nice and could have been designed a bit better but there's too many features not to upgrade to 10.3.1
There are too many features in 10.3 that are important for me, Blend for example, so when 10.3 will show up for other devices than Passport or Classic I will update whatever I have (Z10,Q5)
Yeah, hopefully they will do a review of the OTA updates for older devices on Crackberry. I would hope BlackBerry optimise the OS for specific devices.

Hint: It isn't a final version. It's a beta or leaked release. You don't know what the final product will be.
Well I'd probably switch when it arrives but I besides the nice features it has, I really hate a few as well like the icons, camera app (need to press a tiny button, call screen ( no more mute by pressing the screen randomly). I like the quick settings feature but they should have switched it.. app settings 2 finger and quick settings one finger swipe down. Amazone app store which cannot be removed as far as I know is another bad thing, I don't want anything androidisch on my BlackBerry... It really feels all together like it's less BlackBerry and more android/iOS style.

I reverted back to 10.2 from a 10.3.1 leak. There were still a few too many bugs for me.
I agree with you about the icons and I also missed being able to tap anywhere to take a pic.
However, I really liked the new functionality in the hub and I liked the new UI. I'm looking forward to trying out blend too. I've missed the 10.3.1 ever since I removed it, so I'll definitely be jumping back in when it officially launches.
I've played with the 10.3 & 10.3.1 leaks. They have a lot of issues (which is probably why they are leaks & not official) That being said, although it sucks that they have removed some great features (they wrecked the calendar) they have also added some great features so I will be updating when the official comes out.
Autoloader or Restore via Link. Both are destructive, your phone will boot up with Factory Default settings. If you have issues with your current OS (no matter what version), better don't restore any backups over a clean OS copy. My personal preference is Autoloader method. At least you see the progress on the screen. Link is kind a slow and unpredictable.
Mines on 10.3.1. I do think there are some interface changes that are not ideal on the Z10s smaller screen. Seems like it flows better on the Passport.
The flick typing seems a bit odd as well.
Probably leave it as is though. I mostly use my Passport.
I was playing with 10.3.1.1154 leak on my Z10 yesterday. Virtual keyboard performance is still much better in 10.2, camera autofocus is still more accurate in 10.2, I still see the lag in UI on 10.3.1... it's like the difference between playing a game on 30fps vs 60fps, I can see it when fast scrolling app screens. No such thing on 10.2, feels smoother. 10.3.1.x is still not ready to be released on Z10, I think.
I'm running 10.3.1 with my BlackBerry Classic and I think it runs smoother than the BlackBerry Z30. I like it and I think the pros outweigh the negatives. I like downloading all emails in one shot, deleting messages from the BlackBerry hub is easier, BlackBerry Assistant is cool, and I can't think of a negative. Then again the BlackBerry 10.3.1 update is supposed to be mostly for BlackBerry Classic.
