I have my region set to Indonesia and the default currency is now Rp (Indonesian Rupiah) as strange as it may sound I never type Rp, I only use the $ sign and now I have to press an additional button every time I want to type $. It annoys me.
The region setting dictates date format, default currency and number format, and I only want to change the default currency to $.
If you're using a Passport, you can do this trick. Swipe down on the keyboard two times and you should get the $ sign by pressing V key. Not sure with full touch devices.
I know I can get to $, that's how I managed to get by before I post this, I want to switch the $ with the Rp sign even when my region is set to Indonesia

No, I haven't, it'd be more trouble than its worth: I need to press space to change Rp to $, then press backspace to finally put the number right beside the sign.
That's the best you can hope to get in this scenario.
Would you rather I have said "you can't" and left?

Actually, yes I prefer that. I'm looking for a solution for a specific scenario after all. Would you rather have the salesperson you're talking to offer you 12 other cars and not just say that the exact model and color you want isn't available so you can go and check another dealer? I don't think so.

No, I'd prefer to have all available information so I could make an educated decision.
You have enough information now to decide to drop this thread, since it seems none of our suggestions suit you.
