Hi try this: Settings, shortcuts and speed dial
Follow the instructions to set up shortcuts, I did it to text my daughter.
Edit: just realized you wanted an icon, speed text is the next best I guess.

I only see shortcut for phone calls but no text.

Once you go to settings then shortcuts and speed dial, you'll see the list lines A thru Z. Say you want to assign E for Ernie text, Press on the E line until

Oops sent it. Press on the E and a menu will appear Assign a shortcut. Select this and you can then read the listed as shown.

It seems it is not available on the z10. I'm only getting speed dial shortcut.
