Try going into contacts, swipe down, go into settings. From there scroll down to the "show in contacts list" section and you can turn off linked in, Facebook, etc

The CPU usage is useful only if you choose Current as view. Remember, it's a number over time. If you want good data, tap System in the view you attached and show us the graphs...

That said, when did you update last ?

Last night I backed the phone up and when I was done I noticed it went back to normal.. strange.

    Are you Paul Callahan ?

It's a little high (meaning the high value > 23%), but seems perfectly ok on a 2 days interval.

    Here's mine for instance :

I don't know what the deal is..
Maybe I should buy the Anti-Virus app..
I should not have to backup and start new everytime something like this happens. That's as bad as wiping windows from a pc every so often.
And the Amazon Appstore will not open.. I swear that Appstore shouldn't be baked in, that may be part of the problem. I can't get that to open to 'update' it either..

Don't install any "Virus scanning" app on your phone... period !

About the Amazon App, you don't really need it, except if you want pseudo-free "Underground" apps... The Amazon Appstore still work, right ?

How about the free space left in the Internal Storage ?

That said, did you hard reset your phone since ? If not do it now, keep pressing both the volume up and down rockers until the BlackBerry logo is displayed.

I've got 13GB of 32GB used on the internal storage..
I've rebooted a bunch of times.. soft reset, just did the volume rockers..
I'm going to have to do a factory reset AGAIN.. this is ridiculous..
Thanks for the input. I was hoping there was something else to do to avoid factory resetting but it's inevitable.. smh wtf..

    Some other questions first.
    - Did you enable encryption by any chance ? You know that it takes CPU to encrypt the first time
    - Did you store your camera pictures/videos on a SD Card ? If yes and not encrypted, backup it from your computer, then format it in the phone before restoring your files. Making the thumbnails take time and your issue can be with the SD card.

Don't use device encryption and see if the issue goes away.
I've found that device encryption on, I have high system usage. Encryption off, and my CPU usage is normal.

Well, I went ahead and reloaded the software and will not be using the encryption any longer for the device or media card.. it's more of a problem than anything else.. thanks

It's not the encryption. I have it enabled (card and device) and have none of these issues.

No. I'm not saying that. It's possible it may use a bit more cpu but I forgot to decrypt my SD card before wiping & reloading my passport and lost all my stuff..

For a number of people, it definitely seems to be the cause of the problem.
I made a thread on this issue.

No. It was too late. I never decrypted it BEFORE wiping the device.
It's more of a pain in the ***.. hell the security wipe took 48 hours and still wouldn't finish. It would get stuck @ 98% after 24 hours..Finally just reloaded the os.
I have not encrypted this time around..
