Intermittently, my z30 goes into a state where System uhas high cpu usage as illustrated that is only stopped by restarting the phone. I last looked into this about a year ago. After googling and only seeing old threads, and a search of the forums with nothing new, I am wondering if anyone has found something that I have missed?

Note the constant usage of the CPU at roughly 50% for days. Days.

I have no such 'bug' on my Passport, Z10s, Z30s, or Q5.

I would look into your installed apps or PIM setup.

Certainly not a "bug" but your phone issue . You say nothing new? Well I counted 3 or 4 threads in z30 section in last few hours only. Read and apply.
If your more adventurous and patient search for "baseline drain".

That is odd. I had the same problem on my z10. The only non blackberry app I regularly use is cb10 and battery guru. So the issue must be with pim causing system to use a lot of cpu? How can I change that? Delete account?

I looked back to September 9 and didn't see anything solutions to high system usage besides restarting one's phone. Please link?

You may have some syncing issues with one or more of your accounts. Once you give your phone a chance to settle, attach your 'current', and 'last 24 hour' cpu usuage screens from device monitor.

what back round apps do you have running?

Also, remember that the hub is basically a background app so if depending on how many accounts you have will affect cpu usage.

Not 100% sure what you are asking. Two Microsoft, and Google. Here is how typical set up:

I have found in the past that issues with email servers have drained my battery. I am guessing the Outlook accounts are Exchange ActiveSync. Google one could be if it is an older account. This usually isn't an issue. But, I remember email issues at work one week that had an impact on my phone via this sync method. Phone kept polling server which was not responding correctly.

If it's showing in the memory, it's running in the background. It may be an app.
My money would be on the Skype app. Try deleting that on 1st.

External accounts is just not Email in bb10 also Facebook, LinkedIn, etc. Basically anything in your account settings in an external account.

Also, by your postings it looks like you are connected to a company server and depending on the server settings will affect the device

Oh yeah. I have Facebook, LinkedIn, foursquare, twitter and BBM going. But it doesn't always have that high usage factor.

What can I do if I want to use all that other than move to an os that can handle it?

I would go through and close each app that can be closed, individually and see if it is affecting your cpu. Also, check your permissions and see which one is running in the background. You might be able to pin point the reason for it.

If none of the apps is the problem you may have a bad system file and would need to reload the OS

My wife's phone would do that occasionally, pretty well since BB10 came out. Happened about a month or so ago too. I think it may be related to her work account which is a MS Exchange account, hosted in their office on their own server. A reboot usually fixes it. She has had this problem on Z10, Q10 and Passport. She is on the latest OS on her Passport, which I loaded a few weeks ago when she had the issue again. It hasn't happened since, but it can go months without a problem.

As suggested by Conite, it may be one of your email accounts causing it. Are both the Active sync email accounts Office365? If one isn't that may the one causing the problem.

I am using outlook.com account on my own phone without any problem, so that is probably not your problem. If the Google account is EAS, it may be the problem, or it just may be the problem anyway.

You mentioned you had this problem on the Z10. Did the Z10 have the same email accounts on it?

In regards to the hub and account syncing, one thing I noticed is android apps, specifically PayPal and Whatsapp, the android version, appear as account in the hub setup, but not actually in the hub. So I deleted them from the hub, but when you reopen them, they get added back.

For me this ended up being caused by having Facebook contacts synched with my regular ones. I turned off Facebook integration in my contacts and the problem went away.
