I would also like to know, but I some how doubt it. BlackBerry needs to open up their BT api more, and I am not surprised if google play services is required.

Android wear only requires bt to have low power mode I think and its supported in 10.3, I got invited to buy moto360 before official release but I want to make sure android wear works in the first place, I don't mind if some stuff don't work though but it would be nice to have basic notifications and phone calls, if android wear works I can even make those apps myself in the worst case I just want to make sure I can connect android wear devices

I'm looking at http://www.android.com/wear/ and it explicitly says android 4.3 and even the compatibility site checks for that only
edit: the moto360 page also says: " Syncs with any smartphone running Android 4.3 or higher"

Yeah I saw that too, as I got the email. Let us know how you get on.
I have put my android device in my drawer, just in case this day comes, I have my wife's tizen driven watch some what paired to my Q on 10.3, but it doesn't push calls, only sms.
So it kinda works. I am not even sure if our Qs support BT LE?

yes it does. i think tizen isnt android wear though? or is it now? anyway if it doesnt push calls its not a problem for me, ill just make my own app for it then, as long as they can communicate its all cool with me. also, when did you try that tizen device? around 10.3.0.700 we got support finally for incomnig calls in both native and androiod apps. so it may work now already
Oh cool, as long as BT 4.0 is supported most functions should work.
If you like it, you could always try it out. The device looks good.
I had the Sony SW2 working for a bit until google play services got in the way.
Pebble was working fine too, but I am not currently in the mood for vibrating watch lol.
Let us know!

i had the sw2 too, but i broke it in 1.5 months... the glass shattered when i went out during winter... i never tried it with my q10 though but i heard it was more or less working even with 10.2.0
ill surely grab it when it goes on sale in 6 or 7 hours, worst case ill just link it with the android phone i carry around and make some bridge app between my bb and the android phone haha
edit: http://developer.android.com/wear/index.html
"The Android Wear APIs are delivered in the Android Support Library and Google Play services. When using these libraries, handheld devices running Android 4.3 or later can communicate with wearables."
i wonder what apis need play services
edit 2: https://developer.android.com/traini...yer/index.html
here, these are the apis requiring play services, basically anything thats more than a simple notification...
On 10.3 leak on my Z30 running great... Google Chrome installed via snap g.co/wearcheck

i missed the sale unfortunately, it was late here then. but as i posted above, anything more than notifications will require gplay services according to the developer site
Oh definitely forgive me because I'm not very knowledgeable about this stuff... but I'm just thinking that Chrome browser requires Google Play services and a bunch of other apps that require it, ESPN fantasy football for another example, did not run at all on 10.2.1, but with 10.3 I am able to use Chrome as if it were a native android device, even my ESPN Fantasy app throws an error this app will not run without Google Play Services, yet if I continue to ignore the error message, it'll run very well after the first set of error warnings. Just hoping it'll work... again considering it's for background notifications we'll see.

okay guys good news! in a week or two my brother's company is going to receive a few of these watches as developer samples. he always let me check out all the cool stuff they get so i will let you know if it works or not
Someone try the 360 pleaseee! I got the invite email as well but didn't pull the trigger because I wasn't sure about compatibility with my z10

Like the look of the Moto360 but the battery life is apparently less than 1 day with its old 2 battery style system. It looks better than the it's watch so let us know how it works out.

I installed Android Wear, and it says I need Google Play Services but I can get all the way through to the Pair Device screen. I'm gonna try pairing my phone with my friend's Gear Live tomorrow. I'll let you guys know how it goes.
One thing that might get annoying is that there is a constant notification in the Hub that says "Android Wear requires Google Play Services to be updated". I clear it, but it comes back after a little bit.
Try the patched play services apk + gmaps patcher

How did you get it to work? did you get the android wear apk file from Snap?
Im testing the moto 360 on my Z30 with 10.3.1 and my passport with 10.3 tonight. I will post results.
Any luck?

Yes... Well.... Mostly.
Details??

Okay, so you can get partial usage out of it... I'm currently troubleshooting it to see if I can get notifications to work. If I succeed, I will upload the files for the patched android wear APK. I will update everyone soon!
I'm sorry guys, but it wont work... even with 10.3.1. I'll try again once its official and on my passport. Ill update this at that point, so check back!!
Think Sony sbh52 bt phone looks more useful and is cheaper than these smart watches.
