I updated my Z30 to 10.2.1.3247, software release 10.2.1.2977 yesterday and today, out of the blue, all those apps needing the android runtime (Skype, passwallet, etc) will not run. They open as usual but will not respond at all.
I have been searching through the forums but do not seem to find an answer.
Restarting fixes it for a while, but I can't keep restarting it as it takes way too long.
Any thoughts or link to the answer, please?
    Thanks a lot!
Edit: It had happened before, but very rarely.

You might have to do a back up and reload software through link,

Done that, seems to be holding for now. Thanks a lot. It's good to see that it's not a common issue, this should fix it.

It's weird, it went and came back, and now it's frozen again. I need Skype on a regular basis and I use a lot of android apps as well.
Am I the only one with this issue?

No, you could try finding the bar file for the android runtime and side load it.

That was the fix for the initial 10.2.1, wasn't it? Which would be the latest version of the bar? Can I use any? Can't find a proper answer for this.

You can probably go back one version of software and get it with Darcy tools.

I won't have access to my pc for the next four days I was relying on my phone completely. I guess I will have to go back to my old galaxy s3. Not the first time that bb sort of lets me down. I was really happy with my new Z30 till now

It was probably caused by the update you just did, I think there is a few with this problem, I would load the same os but I would do it with an autoloader. That's what I have on mine , it seems like less bugs when doing it this way,

So, after my phone's on/off button started playing up, I decided to return my Z30 and get a new one. Due to the freezing issue I did not restore from previous back ups and went for fresh installation of all my apps, quite a pain, but thought it might be worth it.
Well, 48 hours after reinstalling everything fresh, and after a twenty minute's Skype conversation, the android runtime has frozen again.
It might be a conflict between the apps I have installed, or the very Skype playing up. I have removed Skype and will see what happens, although I use Skype quite a lot and really need it.
